Since there is a mega jackpot lottery that may have a winner tonight, where winning requires beating odds of 1 in several hundred millions, I was wondering about Todd's chances of "winning" the permanent job at UNLV.

So far he is undefeated. Suppose UNLV makes it to the round of 16 in the NCAA tournament. Is that enough, more than enough, not enough to be selected as UNLV's head coach?

Is there anything he can do to short circuit the machinations going on hire a "savoir" coach?

Personally, I think it would be great to see him earn the job and throw a wrench in this process.

Go Todd. Go Rebels.

It's a good question- how much does Simon need to win to earn the job. I'm not sure how I feel about it honestly. I could be persuaded.

It's fantasy at this point, but a sweet sixteen would also likely mean a MW title and something like 15-3, 16-2 finish (including MWC tournament games). Then win two NCAA tournament games.

That kind of turnaround from UNLV would be a MAJOR March Madness storyline and Simon would be at the center of it.
That might do it.

Or they squeek out a .500 record in conference play and get hot for both tournaments.

Far fetched IMO. I would think they will already have a feeling which way they are going at that point and it would take something miraculous.
