Alone in first place! Hope the Rebels can keep it going. With games against Air Force and San Jose St. this week and another one against New Mexico next week, UNLV will have only played teams in the bottom 5 of the standings in the conference season. Gotta handle business the next 3 games and then see if they can beat the upper tier teams.

You may not want to count Utah State and SDSU twice in regards to their record. In reality except for the top 3 teams, the rest of the conference is all at the bottom. A 2-2 record is the same no matter what, and BSU is not a good team even while they do have a good in conference record. unr, FSU, and Utah St. appear to be the cream of the crop in the MWC with sdsu, UNLV and BSU in the middle of the pack.

If the Rebs can win these next 3, that should set them up to win at least 11 or 12 games in MW play assuming they don't collapse down the stretch. Possibly more if they pull and upset or 2. On the other hand, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if we lost to AFA tonight.

I can’t tell if playing USU and FSU only once works to our benefit or against us. Playing them twice isn’t going to move the ratings needle enough.

The ratings really do not matter. Even if UNLV wins every game in conference, it is still possible they would not make the NCAA due to the weak out of conference showing. It is likely that winning the conference tournament is the only chance to get into the big dance.

I agree with that completely unless they run the table in conference, which isn’t happening.
