Even the players are wondering how they are going to lose.

Here's a quote from today's RJ.

“Down by seven, that close to the (end) zone, I feel like we had a great shot,” Ajiake said. “It’s always like three or four plays throughout the game that change the way the game goes. You never know when those plays are going to come.”

They are just waiting for the plays that will cause the loss.

I don't know how anyone overcomes that.

Purely speculation here.

Feels like with a win over EWU we might be looking at a completely different season.

Obviously we'll never know, just feels like you get that one, it's some to build on.

Maybe we're sitting at 3-4 instead of 0-7 and feel a little better about next season..

I don't. Show me something!!!!

He and Danny Gonzales were my top two candidates after Sanchez firing. I really like Jay Hill, but I assume he sits until the Utah job opens again.

Really liked Danny Gonzales. Defense has been an issue here for years. I'll gladly take a Rocky Long disciple.

New Mexico is probably as hard, maybe even a tougher job than here.

Liked Jay Hill, but the shadow of Hauck still looms I think and they weren't going to go the FCS route I don't think.

I get it...

They've been close.

Not good enough.
It is getting close. I wish the fans can openly support our team or encourages them more. The staff and the team need some support. If UNLV want to get into the P5, there is no magic bullet. You gotta grow your magic bean stalk yourself. Arroyo and staff are getting close. I think next year we'll see some evidence of recruiting. The year after that, two from now, you will see the team that will contend not only the conference but nationally. I don't know if we are patience enough to keep Arroyo that long, though...

Unfortunately, a loss by 3 or by 45 is still a loss. It breaks my heart for these kids. The tough schedule has been no help at all. Of note, EWU is #2 in the FCS poll.

Yeah, CMA's poor coaching reminds of Michigan St. Head Coach saying the kids are playing their tails of and the Coaches are screwing it up! Smh

The team continue to improve, but is it because of coaching, or is it more because of the higher level of talent? UNLV has a WR who will be on the team next year that scored 6 TD's over the weekend and is almost unstoppable in Texas! This is the type of recruit who is most likely ready to be a starter from day 1! Continue to recruit at a high level and talent alone will start to flip the program in a winning way!

It does when you are in a lower middle level conference like the MWC. UNLV has shown over the last month that they are really not that far away from winning games. Good coaching would have UNLV with a winning record, but even poor coaching will not completely squash good talent!
