I've been reliably informed by my well-connected friend in Germany who is familiar with the club basketball scene in the country that Chris Beard is working his Euro connections and may be on the verge of landing a commit from a YUGE Ukrainian prospect. Apparently he's very well regarded within the amateur circuit and has considered going professional, but has put those aspirations on hold to see if he can qualify to play in America. He's very much in the mold of a typical player for Chris Beard, tough and smart. He can play as a stretch four, or your typical inside big man. I will have more info soon. Stay tuned!

So I just got the video from my friend, and the recruit's name is Oleg Renko. He's 6'8 and is very similar to Ben Carter in terms of build, but has a better stroke and jump shot, but he can really get tough inside the paint. He averages like 22/14 a game right now and was getting early looks from some major programs such as Indiana, Gonzaga, Michigan, and Purdue. His passing is pretty decent too, nothing like Magic Johnson of course, but still pretty decent.
