Congratulations on your season. With games against Hawaii and Nevada, you are assured of bowling this year. San Jose lit up your secondary last year and their quarterback is much better this year. So are their wide receivers which are predominately former Nevada players. Exhibition season is over. Good luck.

So, if we beat SJSU at their home it’s a real win?

Just making sure.
Edit: UNM fans stated that we have not beat anyone with their kind of defense. They were sure didn't believe in the Rebels able to score .

Just double checking, you're saying we have never seen an offence like SJSU?

SJST has good offense for MWC, not 1 MWC would finish top 8 in PAC, that's eye test and looking at games against P5 teams.
Winning at Jose will be tough.

Line started UNLV -3.5 now UNLV is +5? Is there injuries report we dont know about?

Well we are 2nd in the nation in interceptions with 11, USC has 12. We have given up a few big plays over the year but our D line has been getting pressure on opposing QBs and forcing them into bad decisions.

Our Lines is where we've made the most improvement we have legit size and athleticism. We will get after your QB I am sure of that. How he handles it will dictate a lot.

Getting 2 of our top 3 wide receiver back is a must and I agree this is one of the toughest tests to date.

Goodluck stopping the A-Train and Brumfield.

San Jose State is no joke.

I don't think Boise is by any means out of it, but Spartans and AF look to be the top 2 teams..

SDSU's offense is awful, and their once vaunted defense is showing some holes..

Fresno has injury issues...

Rebs find a way to beat SJSU on the road, 7-8 wins become a real possibility...

What's the feeling up there on your coach leaving. Have to imagine you guys aren't all that upset about his struggles at CSU so far..

Nevada has financial limitations that Coach Norvell was fully aware of. Nevada gave him his first head coaching job. That he left for greener pastures is standard procedure. That he took 11 of the better players and 4 of our top rated recruits with him was his decision. There are defining moments in life and he chose his own ambition. This also prompted another 10 or so of our better players to enter the portal. How good would the Rebs be if they lost their 20 best players and your recruiting class was gutted. Anyway, it will probably be several years before we are competitive. Saturday's game will be spirited.

SJSU arguably looks the best in the conference right now.

Winner of this week's game is in the driver's seat for the conference championsip out of the west.

I agree you can't count out Boise, too many quality players and coaches.

Also I wouldn't count out Fresno. Apparently Haener may return. Not sure if he will be back by the time we play them. Sure they are taking some lumps right now, but again they have the potential to rattle off a few wins.

Fresno will still be a tough out. Without Haener I don't think they can contend for the conference title though.

I hope he is back for the game against the Rebs. I don't like games with an " next to them..

Obviously they just suffered their worst loss in the past several years.

But they still haven't played a conference game.

They have a tough start against Boise this week. But if they right the ship, I think they can rack up wins in conference to at least be a part of the MW west leader conversation.

How would we feel if UNLV lost their 20 best players and the recruiting class was gutted? Really? UNLV was gutted back in 1985 by President Robert Maxson. I would trade a couple of bad years any day for the 3 plus decades that UNLV suffered!

You do have an unusual football history. CSU took 15 of our best players and recruits, and they now sit atop the bottom 10 list. That's right, the worst team in the country. Talk about being on the schnide. Losing to CSU would not only be a personal affront, we would zoom to the top of aforementioned bottom 10 list.

Need Haener to do it.

If/when he comes back they will be a tough out. How big a hole they are in by then is the question.

They are calling his injury "week to week".

I thought he fractured it from the video, so they are fortunate that it wasn't.

That being said high ankle sprains can be very tough to recover from. But he has some leeway being QB vs a RB or WR in terms of mobility.

He may be back this week. It sounds like he will be back for our game for sure.

Probably no worse than we've been for the past 30 years.
