One thing I defiantely noticed was this team was fairly spaced well, regardless who had the ball the rest were not just standing there playing twiddledinks like years past. Movement was at an all time high for a Rice coached team. Yes we have looked the same the previous 3 games, but I'm talking vs real competition.
We all expected some lumps throughout this season, this game was the first mini speed bump. I'm still excited to see this team just constantly get better through the season. This was the first adversity they have faced as a group, they didn't back down, go into a shell. Yes they had a few moments of bad shot selection (let's not pretend it was just Jerome and Ike that suffered this). But overall, the big stage, the name on the chest of the opponent didn't scare them and that wasn't the case in years past.
Let's go kick some Panaca butt then take it to a vulnerable Indiana team and still come out of this tourney with our heads high and it not being considered a mess.
