Sluka

He visited Memphis, but I wonder if his offer got pulled because the former reno QB committed before he did.

I saw he also visited Liberty. I don't know if either of those visits had an offer attached though.

Not getting much interest.
Regardless of how it TRULY went down - you can see it painted a few different ways. Yeah, UNLV could be scummy but some will see it as a severe character flaw.

Certain things I think you can overlook or work with …. But turning your back on your teammates and staff when the grass is very green - that stinks to high even. Even if that didn’t happen …. it’s a perception that has real legs.

I thought the same thing before you posted it. If things continue in this direction, he may end up transferring to Sacramento State for an NIL package including a free meal at Taco Belle.

He is going to get torn to shreds on X once this is confirmed. Was he not good enough for Sacramento State? One would think if anyone owed him a small payday it would have been the Me-Me coach himself.

Edit** and a starting position.
If Marion was the one that allegedly discussed the payment with him, then he's probably upset and him and wouldn't go to Sac State, but I don't know the details of that, so it's purely speculation

I dont know, obviously Sluka is full of shit. Marion probably was talking up some bullshit about his worth. Was it a 100k? Doubt it. But the bottom line is these things have to be signed and agreed on. Sluka had an agent, Sluka is full of shit and was called out on it, this was an obvious move to get cash somewhere else. That’s why he exited and that’s why his family said he got bigger offers elsewhere.

It was all bullshit.

Eh, if it was a move to get cash somewhere else, or take another offer, then you'd expect him to have been signed as soon as the portal opened up. I don't think it was that.

I would not be surprised at all if Marion made a promise to the kid, without going through the proper channels or vetting.

His agent never filed the necessary paperwork to be recognized in Nevada. Which is required for all agents operating in Nevada.

Marion very well may have said some stupid stuff but it easily could and would have been resolved had his ahent simply got his lisence in Nevada.

A promise of money without a contract. That always works out well. Sounds a lot like the email I just got from Nigeria promising me untold riches. I better go cash in quick.

He should have, his completions percentage certainly said “bench me” and there is no silver lining with that stat, he’s a QB it’s his job to be able to complete passes. He even was under 50% against Utah Tech!

Right back to the FCS where he belongs!
Should have stick around Holy Cross.

The one thing I’ll give him is he didn’t give up against Kansas. His passing might have been a problem, but he still found a way to get it done and get us a win I wasn’t expecting. He did just enough with his legs to swing us the victory.

Would have been happy if he went to Memphis and gotten killed over in that war zone.

He won all the games he had played in, and I never read anything that said he was going to be benched.
Now you have.
When you have two All-American offensive players in RWIII and Jacob DeJesus and you are not getting the ball to them. The dude just playing his game like he was at Holy Cross.

But he quit a week later so that move to me was more telling.

He’s a quitter and that is what is most recent in my mind regarding him!

Oh he definitely tried to pull some nonsense.

He had no leg to stand on though.

UNLV paid what he agreed to on paper.
His agent never got lisenced.
He's a fool if he didn't get something in writing about the 100k.
He 99.999% tried to extort UNLV.

In which case Sluka should have sued him for the money owed. I didn’t hear of any claim made against the agent. Yet another question of Sluka’s credibility.
