You're right in a way. I got burned every time I went with the over under Hauck. I didn't have a chance to bet the over the year they were actually good.
Before the bowl season two years ago, I was in a trial advocacy class where, for our first class exercise, I had to get up in front of the class and talk about any topic of my choice. I chose to talk about Rebel football and how that team would win 6 games and be bowl eligible. Due to a scheduling mishap, instead of giving my "speech" before the Rebs' first game, I had to talk after being beaten badly by Minnesota.
I pressed on, still believing that we'd get 6 wins. Most thought I was crazy. We won 7.
If I had to give a speech this year....... I'd give us 4 wins. We definitely beat Idaho State, and I feel good about SJSU and Hawaii (home team seems to win that game every year). And then we'll get one of these 3: reno, sdsu, or we pull out a season opener shocker and beat NIU.
I'm an optimist, and I can't see anything higher than 4. Schedule is just brutal with Michigan, UCLA, BSU, CSU, and WYO (road).
Regardless, I'm excited for the season to get underway.

Except for one anomaly history tells us that 1.5 or 2.5 for the o/u is the proper line for UNLV football depending on which way the books want the money to fall.
