Some posters have mentioned he has not been participating in the entire fall camp. He is not listed as injured so what's the deal? I know he has struggled in the past. Where are we know with him?

I know he was getting treatment (not sure on what) but appeared late in practice when I was there a few weeks ago, but only watched from the sideline. If they havent listed him as out or only a partial participant I fully expect him be starting at one of the guard spots Sept 5th.

During the times I would see him in at practice he was only half dressed. I think he might be prone to being a heat casualty, from what my friends who played with him in high school say. That being said, when I saw him walking between camps he had a bit of a limp that pointed to a ham string injury.

I walks with a limp but I have no injury. Hmmm?
Third leg is hard to swing around...

Hate to say it. Can't depend on him. This is what we have gotten every year he's been here. Whether it's in his head , his heart or his body . Let's go !

He's a great deal more than the list 335. Compared to whars behind him, even after missing most of fall, he's still far more developed than anyone whos behind him.

I know what you're saying, Malachi, but he has one more season in college and it's under the last coach that got through to him. I'm going to be hopeful right now.
(This is always the approach I take so don't think I'm calling you a pessimist, just that I always think "so you're saying we have a chance?")

GIven Sanchez's track record for not accepting excuses, there has to be something there. Scoggins is still listed as a starter.

Scroggins likes Sanchez and even said in an interview he was looking forward to CS helping him and keeping him motivated.

Scroggins quit last year and came back. Whatever the case, he's got some demons. Hopefully just a heat issue. Whatever the situation, the staff appears to be working with him.

The team is going to need him. The offensive line is already a patchwork. Losing Scroggin would be a blow no matter how you slice it.

Crossing fingers.

Considering how little he has practiced he will most likely be in some type of timeshare. Reps are most important for QB and OL guys and he hasn't seen a lot in camp.

Scoggins was out there today practicing. He looks to be about 350 pounds. He was switching between left and right guard. Didn't look to bad, was able to be a two man gap a couple of times.

When motivated and focused Scoggins can be a force. Between him, Gstrein and Noone there is a solid group with plenty of experience at the guard spots. Add in Polu and possibly Neale (also playing at Center behind Kreitler) to help push those guys and the middle of the line is in decent shape moving forward.

the battle I am most curious to watch is RT. Sanders seems to be leading the race but I wonder if Charles Howard will push to get some reps there as well.

Don't get me wrong, Scoggins was carrying a small beer keg, but that might come to his advantage. He's by far the biggest guy on the field.

Also saw kreitler go down with an ankle injury. He got wrapped, and was walking alright, but he took limited reps. Hoping it doesn't develop into an issue.

That'll be an issue, neither are close to being ready. We need that leader to be on the field.

In particular, Scoggins shined on field goal plays.

Scoggins and Gstrein did not play. Gstrein is serving a suspension and Scoggins, now we know was hurt.

We so needed Scroggins. I watching replay and Saxelid, Noone, Kreitler, Lopez and Sanders played most of the first half without much substitution.

Scroggins and Gstrein would have been primary substitutes.

What the hell did Gstrein do to warrant a 3 game suspension? 3 games is a lot. I could speculate but probably not a good thing to do.

Not sure just what read in another thread. I think Sanders will improve as the season moves, it was his first start. Maybe we will see a few more series with some #2's in the 2nd quarter to see the O line get some rest. probably will depend on how the game is going.

Most the offensive line , definitely the right and left tackles last year, Oberg and Boyko never came out. And they ran uptempo a lot. I do see the need for depth but most coaches do not platoon play their o lineman like they do d-line.
