I have to admit, and I hope this doesn't come back to bite the Rebels, but I'm kind of hoping that Savon looks at this game as one where he has to make a statement.
First off, I believe that defensively UNLV will be able to match up with Goodman well. We have length and athleticism that should bother him, plus the Rebels' size in the interior shouldn't allow too many Savon layups.
Secondly, I'm not that sold on Goodman from a scorer's prospective. He is a great athlete that can cause a lot of trouble to defenses, but he isn't the best one-on-one guy from a shot standpoint. If he tries to take over the game, I think it would be to the Rebels advantage.
Like I said, I hope I don't eat crow with this post. Just my general thoughts on tomorrow night's game.
