I know it is a little bit late, but I wonder if the skill camps are open for viewing and how much it would help in recruiting if UNLV fans showed up the same way that they do for the HS basketball games. It would be a great idea to plan to attend future skill camps, if open to the public, as a way to show that locals will support UNLV football. I know it will be hard to draw in people this year, but hopefully in the future this can be considered. I wonder how many basketball recruits took into consideration the number of fans that showed up when deciding to pick UNLV.

I really believe that these skill camps are one of the best recruiting tools available to the coaching staff and UNLV. In the past I do not believe there was all the much effort put into having skill camps, but have noticed that many of the recruits that go to other schools talk about connections they made while at these camps.

I just want to get a little discussion going to see what others think of this idea. Looking towards the future!

I would imagine these are open to the public but like practice in the spring they might restrict viewing areas and / or cell phone use.

The camps are a great way to get potential recruits on campus and show them how the staff operates. Also a good opportunity to establish relationships early and get to know the kids in a more casual environment and possibly meet parents and tour the campus.

I think the 7v7 tournament is the biggest attraction (also the same day is a Big man Camp) for recruits and getting a lot of them on campus at once. This staff was very active during the spring with recruits so I imagine they will take full advantage of these opportunities.

I think this would be another great way of showing the local support...and building it. I'm unfortunately not in town to partake, but I'm going to try and go to a couple of high school games here in CO to support those that I see we have offers out to. I'm not sure how much it helps, but I know it won't hurt to see a UNLV shirt in the crowd. If I get a question or two from parents about UNLV and everything it has to offer - even better. I think the same can be said for these Skills and Big Man Camps... It would be great to have more ambassadors for UNLV in the crowd.
