The best shot at winning a game for UNLV is against San Jose. San Jose is current winning over Arkansas 24-10 at the end of the 3rd period!

Miracles and UNLV never on the same sentence since UNLV at Baylor during the Robinson era. I’m staying with 3 wins this year. SDSU and SJ or Reno. Then Sanchez is the new F and B Director at Palace Station.

Vandy will probably be 1-4 when we play them, they'll be loving to get a win...

But yeah, no reason we can't beat them.

LSU is very, very good this year. Vandy scored 38 against them. I watched the game. They are better than the 66-38 score would indicate. They took the opening kickoff and drove right down the field on their first possession and scored. I'm not sure how to gauge the defense based on that game, because LSU has scored 60+ a couple of weeks in a row.

I hate it, but I think Vandy is going to kill UNLV. I'm looking at the schedule looking for a couple of wins, and I'm just not sure where they're going to come from, but I really don't think one of them will be Vanderbilt.

I think this San Jose State win puts even more pressure on Sanchez.

Its a like program winning a game vs a P5 school. And there was nothing fluky about it.

Psst… we can't pass.

If you translate SJSU passing yards to UNLV passing yards I think the conversion is 3.5:1. So Armani may break the 140 mark. Is that a career high?

(Sarcasm intended)

The last two years his top 5 passing games:
172 yard vs Nevada
144 yards vs SUU
132 yards vs Praire View A&M
120 yard vs Northwestern
119 yards vs UTEP

Freshman year he had:
220 vs Howard
211 vs New Mexico
203 vs San Jose St
193 vs Idaho
160 vs Nevada

So this means that last year in in his 5 best passing games he averaged a whopping 137.4 yds / game. That might be okay if they were his worst 5 passing games and he ran for 200 yds / game but alas they were his best.

But don't worry he is starting to get comfortable.

Those numbers are fine in conjunction with his rushing numbers.

As long as the turnovers are limited..

Unfortunately.....

Those yardage totals would be fine when you add in his rushing numbers.

The problem is the number of passes and completion % to get to those totals..

And the interceptions...

If the guy was 10-15 for 150 and had another 50+ yards on the ground I'd take it.

Its the 9-22 days that are the problem.

Its really very simple to scout UNLV's offense. Stack the box and key on the run game and dare Armani to beat you with his arm in single coverage
