Recruiting changes?

THIS was just my opinion, but I think we will see AT LEAST a 4* flip when the spring signing opens. That's what I meant
So you're not referring to a specific player then? Or are you?

I am not referring to a specific player. Just an opinion based on money and possible coordinator hires. I said it in another post. December signings are a 60/40 proposition they stick. Coaches go into overdrive until April to get players to flip. Bring in a coordinator with relationships and getting them to flip becomes much easier.

Mullen's staff will be good. Mullen wanted a$$urances and UNLV also wanted assurances.

I expect our portal class will be full of SEC kids who know Dan. Remember those relationships start for that kind of kid in MS/HS and hes only been out of coaching for 2 years. So he's got relationships with kids and now a huge budget by comparison to get some.

How long before UNLV gets their first 4* or 5* recruit out of high school or as a transfer? My expectation is that UNLV recruiting takes a big jump.
One of the hits on Mullen was his recruiting. But he was up against Saban and all the other cut-throats in the SEC. When it gets down to it - recruiting will depend on NIL.

As a coach, Mullen has coached several notable players, including quarterbacks Alex Smith (Utah), Heisman Trophy-winner Tim Tebow (Florida), Cam Newton (Florida) Dak Prescott (Mississippi State), and Kyle Trask (Florida), Anthony Richardson (Florida).

Pretty good resume that I'd imagine would get the attention of transfers and 4* and 5* Kids.

I heard Tate Martell talk last night on a podcast about a high star QB he could help flip to UNLV if we got Mullen. He didnt name names though. I just thought it was interesting.
Is he someone we should really listen to in who he thinks can play QB? Ive got an opinion as well about who can play QB, but I wouldn't expect Dan Mullen to DM me

I'm not 100% sure on the NIL being the biggest part. Playing time is also big. If you're a Woodard type of player at an SEC school, and are not seeing the field as much as you'd like, or keep getting recruited over, why not take your chances on UNLV? Look at what it did for guys like Ricky White, Woodard and Catalon.

We've got 3 great examples right there of how UNLV can make you a star player, despite not being in the SEC, Big 10, etc.
