This game starts at 10 pm Pacific time tonight. It will be on the CBS Sports Network channel. Any thoughts or predictions on this game? I say Rebels 70 and Southern Illinois 57.

Why do rebs run that stupid high pick and roll stuff all the time. When your roller is not much of a threat (Muoka) it does not work. Then the guards have to create 1 vs 2 all the time. Rebs only have 3 players who can create at all in the starting lineup and a gunner off the bench.

While I like watching rebs win this is ugly ball. Bring back the 80's when college ball was great.

I don’t think we are offensively strong or even mediocre on an individual level.

You’d hope for a system that helps improve upon that by getting better shots to offset some of those deficiencies.

Our offense doesn’t. It’s bland, predictable and unimaginative. It doesn’t create many opportunities.

We will be in grinders because we can defend well and we can’t score. Would be helpful if we could score more easily by way of scheme.

The old motion offenses at least had the ball moving and lots of inside out action. The nba type of offenses work in nba as you have better players and shooters.

With Harkless, and Gilbert and Johnson to a particular degree, we at least have guards that can get some penetration. Now they have creating much other than shots for themselves at this point. But the hope is creating for others more with the dribble drive and dish.
Gilbert has been very good, but still not much of a point guard. There is a reason Harkless has the ball in his hands when the game is on the line.
Rodriguez is finally making some shots, Parquet still struggling mightily. If he can be more consistent I think the offense can definitely click a little better.

Of course JJ3 needs to settle down and play within the flow of the offense. Good looks will come. He doesn't need to pull up from as soon as we cross center court
