Anyone else concerned about the availability of McDuffie for the KU game? Our favorite reporter, Joe Arrigo, doesn't believe he will be ready to suit up on Friday and I think that would be a huge loss for us. Getting pressure on Daniels will be key. Thoughts?

You see Melvin Laster hand raised?
No chance, in my opinion. He did get 2 total tackles and one TFL against Utah Tech but it was in garbage time, so to speak. I just don't know if coach will throw him in in possibly our hardest game of the year against B12 bodies.

He probably never get a single rep with the first unit either. Your definitive and finite opinion seems plausible.

Coach Odom and UNLV have to fight off multiple P4 teams from poaching him. The kid is a 4 or 5 stars LB, let him play if he learned the playbook already.

You had to read that long post on the other board. He will be used like a hybrid. Call it a blitzing LB, call it edge. That’s been the intent.
6'3 230 lbs LB from the edge? Not even the NFL team have that kind of a girt from the edge.

What are you talking about? That’s undersized at the NFL level. He needs to be stronger which is the whole key to edge rushers, strength and quickness.

But for CFB? He’s fine in terms of size.

Malik Chavis cane in for McDuffie and looked pretty good.
With Doyle we are running more 4-2-5 than 3-3-5. But they are putting Doyle out in coverage some.
Laster isn't ready for McDuffie's position. I'm guessing they played him yesterday to give him some game reps, but likely thinking about RS'ing him

Reggie White would agree with you.

I’m old. I have to pick somebody I know.

Sticking local, my guess is even Crosby is much bigger.

Totally.

Heck even at the NFL level 230 is fine for a situational pass rush/3rd down guy.

Bruce Irvin played below 230 at WVU in college I believe.

Not ideal as an every down guy vs the run at end but as an edge rusher or some type of hybrid DE/OLB plenty big enough at the college level.
