Possible and cryptic coach

I have seen rumors both on this site and on twitter that UNLV is still going after a top level local player. I think they still may have a chance with 4* Greg Rogers both with what I have been reading and his twitter message yesterday that shows he is still following the program along with the number of coaches and players that are following him.

Second from coach Cormier a cryptic message regarding a player from San Diego. I was not able to figure out who he may be speaking of, but there are several 3 and 4* players that could still be on the UNLV radar

If they can hit two more home runs, it is very possible UNLV will finish the recruiting as #1 on rivals. Currently they have all but locked up being a top 3 in the MWC. Just two years ago we were at the bottom of the entire country in regards to recruiting. What a change, a New Era!

Trying to follow a couple of 'leads' as well.

Todd Dewey should be announcing this weekends visits tomorrow so that might provide some answers.

There is a possibility that a couple of rides may have opened up with the usual attrition of players leaving. We are down to 2 spots but like I said a few more may have opened up.

You might be right on it being a local kid. It might be a different one than you listed though. If it is Rogers that would be huge and I hope it is. Staff started following another local again which makes me think he is back in the mix despite already giving a verbal.

Whatever the case exciting times for sure.

As Rebel football starts heating up and people see UNLV climb the conference ladder, locals will develop more pride for the hometown team and we'll see kids staying home over other offers. And especially if this stadium proposal pans out on campus I think we'll see a lot of big time locals in Rebel uniforms.

You're right Doc, if the stadium gets going officially, it will totally change things for UNLV football. I'd actually love to see the same type of stadium that was discussed with the UNLV Now project. That thing was amazing, and I think it was around $1B, so pretty much in line with what they're talking about price wise on this one.

I'd love to see Anthony Smith stay home. Fort Collins is cold and boring compared to Las Vegas anyway. He should stay here and help the Rebels dominate.

I could be wrong but I'm thinking the player Cormier is referring to might be WR Mekhi Stevenson out of La Mesa, CA. If so, this kid is a beast and would be a very nice WR.

I like this kid a lot.

There is another kid I think might be on the radar but is being kept a little more quiet.

Anselem Umeh is another name to watch for. (Rebelbuck credit on that one) popped up recently on the radar.

Why does it seem like that kid is faster than lexington thomas? He has some serious speed.
