There’s no leadership on this team. This is IMO going to show me alot about this team. It could get real messy and thing could completely unravel.
Don’t worry. There will be excuses galore for reasons why we aren’t that good. But actually, we are good, we aren’t just seeing it the way some people say we need to be seeing it. .There’s no leadership on this team.
And Hamm. Those three out? Just excuses. Rebs should win by 30. Just lazy.
Glad to eat crow for Rebel win.
Who ever voted for 10-11 more wins must of read it wrong i said wins not losses. I will bet $ and give u 5 automatic wins if we get to that.
"Hamilton's maturity in involving his teammates more with defenses keying on him"
I think this is a huge reason for our newfound success. Hamilton buying in is showing that he's becoming high professional level - maybe not NBA, but definitely not small team third world country.
Here's a crazy thought but I think that Hamilton would do better with another year here versus going pro. I'm sure that his mind may be made up already but consider the national press he'd get in college which would help his brand more than declaring early. If he gets a national following by remaining in school one more season, that's free press, so to speak, and would benefit him greatly.
While he could go elsewhere to get into a bigger market (P5 school), I think he'd be best served by staying here since he has rapport with the coaches and his teammates. Ja Morant did well at a smaller school to build his name. Jimmer (I hate him, too), developed his national brand at a non-P5.
The problem for him at this point may be his age. While we love having guys develop over 4 years, typically younger players have more value (more NBA league years/NBA development).I think Hamilton signifcantly elevated his stock this year. Is it enough to get drafed? I wouldn't rule it out, but I wouldn't count on it. Definitely enough for him to get a bunch of workouts maybe an invite to the combine.
I agree to a certain extent that yet anouther year may help his prospects, but probably not enough to make it worth the risk.
He had national player of the year, is putting up some ridiculous numbers, often against some of our tougher competition. Trying to match or even exceed some of that by returning will be a tough ask.
I do think returning to UNLV vs transferring makes more sense if it comes down to that.
I agree with this! Imagine if he did come back and play like this the entire year?!"Hamilton's maturity in involving his teammates more with defenses keying on him"

If he left for the NBA I'd give him my blessing. He came back this year, he learned to involve his teammates, and he's been everything we all hoped he could be for the team. I'd hate to see his stock drop by staying another year and getting injured, regressing, or getting overshadowed by other players at his position. The problem for him at this point may be his age. WHEW!! i am glad no one took me up on that bet!
Yeaah baby! 1 down, 10 more to go!
