That’s actually wild.. Props to Jimbos agent.. Crazy what SEC boosters are able to provide/pay out coaches..
Maybe it’s just me. While I like what I’m seeing at this moment, does it strike anybody as odd and/or maybe incredibly premature to be calling for a big raise and contract reconstruction for a coach who is 6-17 at UNLV?
The wins this year … Idaho State, Utah State, UNM and North Texas, teams that are a combined 5-13?

I've always thought you got to let the season play out fully before you figure out coaching decisions.
It is not. You can see it last year even without Brum. Arroyo is the real deal. If there is money, UNLV should really sit down and sign him to nice contract with some kind of buyout clause that will keep him at UNLV for awhile. He lost both of his OC and DC from last year's team and his team have improved drastically from last year. Remember where we at with injuries and such. 6 games within grasps. Our players and coaches seems to be in sync with each other since what, Robinson's era maybe? Keep the good thing going if there is a possibility.
What I’m saying is we are excited over a 5 game stretch in which we played nobody.
How are people going to feel if we lose the next three straight, which is a distinct possibility … ? Will people still want the extension and extra money?
I have seen improvements since last year. This 5 games are good. Take last year's game against Fresno, we were up by two scores before Brum injured again? I might be wrong. Improvements and looking like a real team happens since last year.

The Rebels had a spectacular game vs Utah and they lost to a good U of A team in OT and put up a great OOC record. And people were brimming …
I think the football Rebels will be fine, I really do … but I’m saying sometimes take a step back and look from different angles … you may see different possibilities.
The talent is better, team is better, last yr team loses at USU, so everything is moving up in right direction, if they go 3-0 in next 3, you sign him to extension, basically next 3 are basically top tier outside of BSU and they aren't that good.
If we go to a bowl he should be extended. But everyone needs to understand if a P5 program wants him they will get him. An extension will have nothing to do with keeping him or his assistants here. All it will do is give us buyout money to help us hire the next coach.
Talking about BSU. They weren't doing well. Then they proceed to fire their OC Plough and got rid of their QB Bachmeier. Now they seems to be humming again. A lot of football to play.
Except SDSU got rid of their QB first then their OC, that is the difference. lol
I think the SDSU OC lost his job because he doesn't have any QB left....They tried to recruit 2023 UNLV QB commit Ty Diefenbach (spelling). lol

SDSU in the past didn't need great QB play, just a guy that didn't lose games. Cliche in 3-2-1 A game manager. Play great defense, run the ball, and have a guy that could complete the occasional 3rd and 8 to move the sticks or hit a big play once a game off play action. Last year and this year the QB play has been poor and I think the offenses ability to generate much has worn down the defense..
I'm okay with that. If he can build the program to the point where another school is going to throw big time money at him, we should at least be able to get a good buyout to be able to bring in a solid coach, instead of spending the least money possible on a lottery ticket. Maybe it hits and maybe it doesn't. We can't afford to be playing the lottery with sports anymore if we have any desire to be included in the future realignment stuff.
