I actually thought Shibest came up with that but I guess not. I saw this on a list of great trick plays in college football. We actually executed it better though.

Shibest was at V tech before he was here, so he might have still been the one who came up with it. Not sure when this was though.
I was at the game and had no idea what the hell happened until replay.
Shibest was the special teams coach for Virginia Tech since 2016, so he was the special teams coach for that play!
I would have liked to have seen him call that vs Boise and not our meaningless bowl game. He is an excellent coordinator kinda shocked he went from Va Tech to us.
He will be missed. ST gave us very good field position all year long.
They sure did on both sides. Two different kickers both did well. Blocked punts. Excellent returns. Our ST play was good for at least one of our wins this year.
Have to love kickers and anti-kickers.
