This is a decent team to watch, comparatively speaking. Usually it’s sooooo many self inflicted wounds followed by a complete loss of focus leading to an embarrassing implosion. They aren’t playing like victims thus far. They’re acting like a favorite and taking care of business. That mindset has been a rarity … it may be short lived, they need to get punched in the mouth more before we really have a better idea, but three games were laid upon them … the first should have been a blow out and it was and UNLV looked really sharp, the second we were a substantial dog on the road and we battled tooth and nail until the final whistle and “should have” won that game, the third game we were a slight favor and we dominated.I’m officially following UNLV football from here on out not just cuz it’s UNLV but because they destroyed that team today. Only really ever watched hoops tbh
Impressed and dead wrong!6-6 impressed?
When was the last time a UNLV head football coach actually moved on to a different program without being fired from here first? 🤔How long before the national coaching search starts naming Arroyo as a target?
And if he went to Boulder, it would be a BIG mistake! CU is a mess and I’m not even joking. I think Marcus would be in over his head at CU.If he gets to 8,9 wins then Colorado is on the phone.
CU is a total disaster. I agree. But they’d overpay to save from being turned down so he’d be set in that regard. And if he went to Boulder, it would be a BIG mistake! CU is a mess and I’m not even joking. I think Marcus would be in over his head at CU.
One of the things that has impressed me are the stope they make on 4th down. Incredible! This is a decent team to watch, comparatively speaking. Wins and losses aside - when you watch this team, they really aren’t their own worst enemy. Yes, too many penalties, that has to be dealt with because they’ve been the biggest issues, imo. That and occasionally the secondary gets completely lost (which IS UNLV football), but it’s not happening as often and it’s not coming at horrific times, either.
It just looks a little different to me so far. It’s only three games, but I’m pleased with where they are at.

Yeah, standard quotes.
The reason CU can’t keep coaches is because the pay is not competitive due to what happens behind the scenes with university and local state politics, remember Mel Tucker! If Arroyo goes he goes but CU and Nebraska are huge challenges because of behind the scenes issues.CU is a total disaster. I agree. But they’d overpay to save from being turned down so he’d be set in that regard.
I do see one scenario where we fend off suitors, but we can’t stop a Nebraska from taking him (they are another dumpster fire!).
Easy fellas, our coach won 4 games in 2 + seasons. Let him finish his 3 rd year first...lolThe reason CU can’t keep coaches is because the pay is not competitive due to what happens behind the scenes with university and local state politics, remember Mel Tucker! The answer is Ron Meyer. Who went from UNLV in 1975 (second coach after Bill Ireland) to SMU in 76.When was the last time a UNLV head football coach actually moved on to a different program without being fired from here first? 🤔
Really good offense, team at USU and UNM next 2 weeks should be 4 and 1 going into San Jose game. Recruiting is shaping up and future should be good, MWC is horrible to boot.
Utah St is an enigma so far. Overlooking them (or anyone)would be a big mistake. Think we win though. Schedule is much more manageable then previously thought. No automatic losses (even ND). Highly doubt we win them all, but think all are winnableI'm not sure what to make of USU just yet. Looked pedestrian vs UConn. Blown out by Bama (who isn't) and then a real head scratcher losing to Weber State at home be 4 scores.
I'm still hesitant to stick a fork in a team that was as good as they were last year.
That said, I think the Rebs will definitely be in this game...

I wouldn't say destroyed, if we didn't get some timely 4th down stops, it could've easily been a 51-48 type game (prior to the late pick-6).Rankings???? We destroyed UNT. They are ranked #100. We are ranked 113....................................WTF
Please explain....I wouldn't say destroyed, if we didn't get some timely 4th down stops, it could've easily been a 51-48 type game (prior to the late pick-6).
Any ranking outside of the top 25 polls don't matter.
Conference is going to be a different challenge for this team. Focus on the next game at hand and try to keep momentum rolling.

Ok... I agree destoydishishWould you go so far as to say destroyedish? Maybe destroyed adjacent?
Perhaps destroyed, but not dominated.
It was a one score game most of the way. We made big stops, pulled away, and kept our foot on their throats.
Closer game than the score would make you think. But a final score is a final score.
Yeah, that one still was nothing like Kevin Steele’s gaffe though.I love the pick 6 in the end.
Kneel on the ball and take your loss.
Nope tried to be cute.
That is an all timer. I liked how he got Bronx cheer later in the year when they did in fact take a kneeYeah, that one still was nothing like Kevin Steele’s gaffe though.
Just think, had he done what he was supposed to he would have reached double digit wins in his Baylor career. That is an all timer. I liked how he got Bronx cheer later in the year when they did in fact take a knee
