The Trevor game was odd. It was a meaningless game, I think UNLV was on probation, it was widely accepted that Pitino was going to be our next coach, you know, because media doesn’t care about actual truths … Max Good had the game, Bayno was fired, it would be his last … Trevor was just jacking up shots, zero conscience, you could tell it was about getting his. He missed his first few, they were awful shots, Good was going to pull him, then he hit a shot, and another, and another. And it didn’t stop. That was the game where I think we started 6 (Booker was the 6th maybe?). Once Trevor caught fire, the team actively looked for him. Wyoming couldn’t stop him.

After the game I remember controversy, Bayno was watching from the stands, ran down and hugged Trevor, they were close … and then Bayno went with the team into the locker room, Carol Harter went nuts, tried to have Bayno escorted out of the stadium. Then Good kicked Harter out of the locker room.

So petty.

We went to it, my girl was asking why do you do this to yourself before the game.. I said I’m an alum who likes agony up close and personal. I was all set to leave disappointed but because of Bryce‘s play, we were both pleasantly surprised and we had a great night out after the game in Ft. Collins last night!

Had a surreal moment maybe around that time. I was in line waiting to buy tickets at the front box office and standing next to me in line was Coach Bayno.
...AND?!

I always loved Bayno's enthusiasm as our HC. He gave everything coaching and recruiting. He even had the wisdom and humility to recognize his weaknesses and seek to remedy them.

But one thing I can't forgive him is taking Greedy off of Jeryll Sasser and letting him go off on us in the 2nd half and letting that punk tell everyone the Shark Tank was HIS house.😡

Blame Marion a bit too. He shrunk like a violet. That was an awful ending to a woefully underachieving season.

I was at a volleyball tourney for my daughter so I didn't get to see it until today but have to give it to the rebels they did what they needed to win. Bryce was on fire and Hamm shut down there center. Good job Rebs!

I guess I left the story on a cliffhanger.

I of course got love for our UNLV coaches, so I gave him mad respect and props. He was flying totally under the radar - no one seemingly recognized him. I addressed him as "Coach" and told him how much I appreciated all he did for our team.

Thats not the only time I had a moment like that either. At the introduction of Dave Rice as new coach at the Cox Pavilion, when the event ended, people basically got up and left, single/double file through the doors as would be expected. But getting out of there is like leaving a high school gym - you walk to the floor then then and walk out. Well, I'm on my way out and there is an old bald guy sitting in his seat on the floor - he hadn't moved, looking straight ahead, everyone dutifully shuffling by him. I was like - No, it can't be. Can it? I kind of swerved onto the court to get a better look at the guy I was about to walk by and sure enough, it was Coach Tark. So as I approached him, I gently touched his shoulder getting his attention and tell him that we all love him and he means so much to me, UNLV fans and all of Las Vegas. THEN people started noticing who he was and everyone started forming around him. Made my day.

Oh, I was standing right by an incognito Stan Lee at the Comicon. Incognito until my wife called him out and security had to then form a barrier from the fans. lol
