will be at home, Sat, Feb 8, vs a horrible Fresno State. There are four teams that are just terrible in this conference - Fresno, AFA, SJSU, and winless Wyoming (no, I refuse to call them formidable to make myself feel better about a win over them, they're complete shit).
We have two road games coming up, Saturday at Colorado State and the following Wednesday at Utah State. Hoping to win both, but think we will win only one and CSU would be more ripe, I think.
When you look at the standings, obviously SDSU is the runaway winner at 10-0 right now. Then you have UNR and UNLV at 6-3, UNM, USU, CSU, and BSU at 5-4. A real cluster. I just want to stay in that top 5 to avoid the first round game in the MWCT. Still a ton of basketball to play, but we have a little bit of a leg up to make that top 5, of course, just a week ago, we were a surefire favorite to finish in the top 5.
So even if we go 1-1 over the next two games, we will slip, that 5 seed will become iffy. But then the schedule lightens significantly. We are in the middle of the toughest stretch, we started with the easy stretch (hence the 6-1 premature ejaculations, same thing happened last year), and end with a moderate stretch, one where I think we will go 5-3 at worst... it's kinda looking like 12-6 for a final conference record which will certainly place in the top 5, I really can't see it worse than 11-7 which will still get you into the top 5. I really don't want that 6 seed where you beat up on a hapless and probably winless Wyoming squad and then face SDSU at 1130 on a Thursday morning where 500 UNLV fans show up to SDSU's 4K fans. To me, that's worst case...
Tons of speculation, just thinking out loud.
