Get it before anyone else does. Every time UNLV is mentioned you would hear it. In person, on the radio or on TV. NATIONAL CHAMPIONS. UNLV NATIONAL CHAMPIONS. Who wouldn't want to play for the NATIONAL CHAMPIONS?

And since the Rebel Girls are always NATIONAL CHAMPIONS give them an additional role to play as our Mascots!

Still have concerns that Dixie State did that (from Rebels to Red Storm) and it lasted like 8 years before other folks got offended. I do like that nickname though for sure.

Give me Sand Sharks or Desert Sharks and I'll live. Not the best, but it's not widely used by anyone, especially not regionally. I think South Carolina Beaufort uses Sand Sharks. They are NAIA.
