Any info6'11" Juco big man Karl Jones.
This guy average 10 and 8 but only got 17 mpg? I graduated from UNLV, so using my UNLV math this may not be accurate…Seems like an end-of-the-bench guy that can rebound (8.2 Rebounds per game in 17 minutes). Averaged 10 ppg, but, hit 51.7% of his free throws. Not sure about his hands. Looks like a solid, strong player that can provide depth to the frontcourt.
On his twitter, he opened up his recruitment and thanked Florida A&M. Looks like a diamond in the rough to me. Big body will definitely help in practice and rebounding vs big 7 footers. Spot minutes, Kruger saw something.I just looked up the LA Southwest’s stats. Only 4 players averaged more than his 17mpg and 9 guys averaged more than 10mpg.
On their BB home page they congratulate him for a scholarship to Florida A&M.
I’m assuming it was an unintended sleight to Khem Birch. It looks like he enjoys shot blocking, haven’t seen that around here since Joel Anthony!
My bad, I forgot about Khem. Since Khem and before that Joel!I’m assuming it was an unintended sleight to Khem Birch.
Goodluck O wasn’t good at much but he could block shots with the best of them. That game he played against AZ with Brandon Ashley and Tarczewski was excellent with blocks and rebounds. My bad, I forgot about Khem. Since Khem and before that Joel!
Also to hearken back to the Kruger era, Henry Buckley was an absolute windex man. Beas wasn’t too far off either, lol.Goodluck O wasn’t good at much but he could block shots with the best of them. For a freshman that didn’t play much, he showed some defensive prowess for 3 games. Smdh.Goodluck O wasn’t good at much but he could block shots with the best of them. That game he played against AZ with Brandon Ashley and Tarczewski was excellent with blocks and rebounds.
Man don’t bring up phantoms like Buckley or hype like Hamga! LolAlso to hearken back to the Kruger era, Henry Buckley was an absolute windex man. Beas wasn’t too far off either, lol.
I had to look back. I know he quit his sophomore year. I didn’t realize he was MWC All Defensive Team his freshman year. 2.9 blocks a game and 90 for the year is better than I remembered. If he would have stayed he could have been a big difference maker his Junior year. From his UNLV bio:For a freshman that didn’t play much, he showed some defensive prowess for 3 games. Smdh.
Looking at the roster, I believe that we were in on Andre Rafus Jr during his recruitment. Per https://defpen.com/andre-rafus-jr-recruit-school-choices/:I just looked up the LA Southwest’s stats. Only 4 players averaged more than his 17mpg and 9 guys averaged more than 10mpg.

Yeah, I think he was one of insidas guysLooking at the roster, I believe that we were in on Andre Rafus Jr during his recruitment. Per https://defpen.com/andre-rafus-jr-recruit-school-choices/:
"Rafus relayed to me that he has narrowed his list from seven to three: TCU, Kansas, and Georgetown. Removed from his list are Kentucky, Butler, NC State, and Seton Hall."
I'm not sure what's gone on with him since he was in the 2017 class per that article. However, he's listed as a sophomore in rebswin2's link. Of course, a lot can happen with a kid over 5 years, so maybe he was exposed, as some highly touted players are.
Rafus Jr was out of the Maryland area. The same area that produced D Morgan and the PG who was "25 pounds and a jump shot away from the NBA." (Cook???)
I couldn’t remember his screen name, only his real one. I don’t see us being in on any of his guys right now and I’m cool with that.Yeah, I think he was one of insidas guys
There was another he touted, I think Daquan’s “cousin”, I think it was Demetrius Mims or something.I couldn’t remember his screen name, only his real one. I don’t see us being in on any of his guys right now and I’m cool with that.
That said, if DM could have accepted what he was (high energy rebounder/garbage man) instead of what he thought he was (a prolific scorer), he could have done ok. I think he did ok for Todd at SUU.There was another he touted, I think Daquan’s “cousin”, I think it was Demetrius Mims or something.
Seems they’ve all been low to midmajor players with minimal impact. But I’ve seen none besides D Cook and Dwayne - obviously, both very overrated and worse, couldn’t stay out of trouble.
Rice could really recruit his ass off. That's a 4 or 5 star player I have little memory of actually playing among all the other players on the roster. 2.9 bpg as a freshman. What a waste. If these guys could swallow some pride and realize they aren't going to be the next Lebron or Jordan and maybe rather the next Boris Diaw or Rudy Gay they'd be in the big league but I guess it's hard if you've been hyped since the 6th grade that you're THE guy.I had to look back. FRESHMAN (2014-15)
Named to the Mountain West's All-Defensive Team ... One of five true freshmen to get court time for the Runnin' Rebels ... Led the team in blocks per game (2.9) and tied for tops in total blocks with 90, which is fourth in program history for most blocks in a season ...
Some coaches are really good at it but it seems the ones that feast the most with it are “program” coaches that can absorb a lot. By that I mean they are long established programs, the foundation is firmly in place, expectations don’t have to be explained, they are well known … a strong booster base and a strong former players as advocates base. I think those types of programs can take a knucklehead and turn him around or at least reduce his knucklehead because it’s a village taking care of a kid, looking after, advising … there’s a top to bottom unity and it’s woven throughout the fanbase and auxiliary areas …Rice could really recruit his ass off. I knew it was coming! Haha, the next Keon, Sidney Green, Ackles, and Basnight combined! Only difference was they were heralded out of high school and weren’t headed to Florida Tech before UNLV came calling.Wow, those blocks are vicious.
I hope we have a Keon Clark clone.
Are serious my man? You must be a lawyer or something....wanting to make a problem out of nothing, lol.if you read he post it says I hope we have a Keon Clark clone not he is a Keon Clark clone. Nobody said he was one. Tired of people misrepresenting what other posters said just to justify their own negative agenda
