The Mountain West is attempting to follow the Big Ten Conference in a return to play in football and other fall sports “at the earliest possible opportunity,” the league said in a statement Wednesday.
The statement said “multiple subgroups” are trying to craft a solution, following the lead of the Big Ten, which announced Wednesday that it would begin its football season on the weekend of Oct. 23.

Why exclude Hawaii, AFA and Fresno? F*(king MWC....
Yeah kind of random schools to list. Just a guess here but...
Hawaii- Travel restrictions may still force 2 week quarantines?
AFA- prioritizes CIC games. So they couldn’t play the 8 MWC straight. Maybe just a partial schedule for them.
Fresno- Makes no sense for SDSU and SJSU to play but not them. I assume they’ll follow the other CA schools.

Las Vegas!
It wouldn't be a problem to social distance season ticket holders in Allegiant, the governor would have to adjust his crowd limit of 50 people rule. It would be great to see some live UNLV football in Allegiant this season.

I don't think casinos are limited to 50 people. I believe casinos have a 50% occupancy limit. That same standard applied to Allegiant would leave plenty of room.

They need to make a decision very soon - this week - if they can make an 8 game season and a Dec. 19 MWC championship.

MWC has a meeting next week in which they take a vote. Looking at starting oct 24 or 31. Pac 12 has meeting next week to decide if they will at this fall. They are looking at starting oct 31. From what I have heard both are going to happen.
MAC holding strong on no fall football but playing in spring.

If there are no fans allowed where would it make sense for the Rebels to play? It would seem Allegiant would be awfully expensive if there were no spectators footing the bill.

They might as well play at Gorman. The Pac 12 and Big 10 have the $$$ to pull this off. I just dont see the MW having the finances to test everyone and endure all the extra expenses.

Was listening to Jody Mac show on CBS Sports radio last night. He had a sports business guy on. One of their topics was the Big 10 starting up. Also spoke about the possibility of PAC 12 cranking it up. Even the MAC was mentioned 3-4 times. Not one peep about the MW. Way to get us out there, Craig.

As I have said in the past Craig should have been canned years ago!

Television contracts are the hidden power behind the change in the Progressive minds of the elite. Money will be lost if no games. They have to play or next tv contract won't be worth the paper it is printed on.

Seattle Times ran huge articles on cuts on UW campus because of no tv money. Guess what they will play.

Fresno State could be a problem for the League. They have higher infection rates than either San Diego county or Santa Clara county and it could limit their ability to start. All the other teams in the league have players on campus EXCEPT Fresno.

I am watching the news in Utah right now and they just said the MWC is starting the season on October 24 and will play an 8 game season.

Edit... I guess I wasn't listening close enough, the president's are voting on it Thursday night. But full expectations are it will pass.

Based on what I've seen/heard coming out of Boise, limited fans. Seems like they're talking 1/4 to 1/3 of capacity.

I will just call the ticket office and ask if I can just use my tickets next year

I'll be there for games after I get my Covid immunization - that's if I'm not paralyzed.

Still can’t have fans in this state. I want to know what the options are for season ticket holders...

The email I got from the athletic department said they are looking at ways to get fans. But I agree with you-the state won’t allow it.

Have not seen any letter from the athletic department in several weeks.
"Tonight’s announcement, however, did not address fan attendance. We continue to work with our state and local officials to explore every possible pathway to including fans in a limited capacity inside the stadium. As soon as we have information, we will share with you. "

Quote from the email I got last night @ 8:00 P.M.
