I think the staff did a great job at evaluating our film and players. Look at all of the pass rushers!

Amazing how an initial, exciting recruiting class can give fans some good vibes and momentum heading into spring ball. The energy, the intensity, the quick work - he may end up going 6-42 over four years, who knows? But it’s a start that have people interested. Caring. It’s how you start to get things rolling in the right direction. Not by saying “well, look where we started, this slow growth build will pay off in five years”. No excuses, get out there, bust your ass for results. A refreshing change from what has been the status quo with both major programs at UNLV.

I do think TS changed alot of the outlook, culture put us on a proper path. Just couldn't get it done on the field. Something tells me he is proud of what he did but also seems like the kind of class guy that understood the needed change to continue to build on what he put in place.

I cannot cannot cannot wait until spring ball and the upcoming season.

One great year of recruiting isn't going to get it done for the long haul we need multiple years of this type of recruiting. CTS had one good year recruiting then it went downhill. Hauck's recruiting philosophy of looking for "big framed" recruits then giving them a few years to "fill out" was ridiculous because you are always waiting on future years.

Hopefully we will be on our way to a better future. Our schedule next year is going to be a killer and I hope it doesn't defeat the momentum.

A little extra excitement is needed for this season, with the opening of Allegiant stadium. There will be extra butts in the seats this year based off the stadium alone. Having some reason to return, a little excitement if you will can really pay off.
But it will really depend how they fare on the field for the fans. Pretty uphill battle next year given the schedule, but at least there will be some built in patience being coach's first year.
They don't have to win all the tough games, but they need to compete. The good part is that I think the potential is there for that.

Of course a bunch of freshman aren’t going to come in here and turn things around immediately, especially the recruited linemen.

My point is it’s key to generate excitement in Las Vegas. Can’t just come in here and ho hum it. In the end, you gotta win of course. But with the new stadium, you need to tack on with enthusiasm so people get behind it and show up. Now UNLV football has sucked forever, so in a way they’re lucky - people will have more rope with football (than hoops, which is an extremely short rope). I don’t think anybody with a shred of understanding expects a huge turnaround right away. But if you show some stuff, if you can compete, you show some promise at certain units or with young players - people will latch on. And that all starts with attitude and recruiting.

Could not agree more!

Recruiting without coaching, well you know how I feel about that but the hope is recruiting+coaching for a change would be nice at UNLV!

They have to translate in to 7+ Wins in the regular season for more than 2 consecutive seasons, with at least 1 or more Bowl win ! IMO

I think we could probably split our conference games, maybe pull an extra win out of those. To start, it's a very good chance of going 0-4. So looking at 4-8 or 5-7

It is a tough call for UNLV football. There are several transfers and high level high school recruits who could quickly have an impact on the defensive play of the team.

Yeah, our offense has been good in spurts. We have had some good seasons production wise in the last several years. Our defense, however, has never risen above the level of mediocrity since JRob. It will be nice for a change to see what should be a pretty decent defense in say two years.

I think all it would take is back to back bowl seasons. If that happens for the first time in our history that will be a big accomplishment. Hell, I think the shortest time frame between bowl games is like 7 years.
