I would say Sanchez is turning a quick 180 with the program but the truth is UNLV has never recruited at this high of level (with the exception of maybe 1 year under JRob). This is entirely new heights that Sancehz is taking this Rebel program to, and will continue to as long as he's coaching here. The Rebels will be turning heads and demanding respect before long.

Can honestly say, I thought we were still a year away from breaking top 3.

I thought we were two years out. I thought we would have a winning, or an even season before this would happen. His time is now. He won't be able to keep this up without wins and a facility. Anyone want to take a bet on how long it will be before he gets a four star here? I think a bowl victory.

Any minute now......

I don't think the average fan in Vegas has any idea what a phenomenal recruiting class and job CTS and staff have put together. I hope we are able to get the excitement out there for the program and get more butts in the seats.
I will fly out from Texas 2-3 times next year to catch games and any other games w/i 500 miles!!!

Once the new football building is constructed next to the practice fields there's no doubt in my mind that Sanchez and his staff will start landing multiple 4 stars. He's too good of a recruiter and the type of coach kids want to play for. That's the type of dramatic overhaul we're going to see. Money is coming in for the football building. It's not a matter of "if" but rather "when".

Just to give you an idea, when Sanchez speaks about how Baylor ten years ago was where we are right now, he sincerely believes he can build UNLV up to that level. Crazy, I know. But Sanchez is a builder, hyper competitive to win at the highest level. This thing will grow exponentially IF the community, Board of Regents, and state legislation jump on board with support.

You're not gonna find the UNLV football haters here. If you want to find them, go to the newspaper comments section. But you enter at your own risk...

Did we take over the top spot? BSU lost their 3* QB commit, Micah Wilson, last night. 45 minutes later he tweets that he's a Missouri Tiger. I guess his dad played for Mizzou and that was his dream team. Now they're all concerned that they may lose their 4* RB, Damarea Crockett, to Mizzou, as well, since Wilson and Crockett have gotten tight. Maybe if Harsin would pull the trigger on getting an OC hired they could do some damage containment. Nervous times in Bronco Nation.

Thanks for the info on that. Good news for us bad for them.

Funny thing we jumped on Rivals ranking and dropped with another site.

Recruiting was my biggest concern when he was hired. He's exceeded all my expectations and then some. I really didn't take into account his stong ability to connect with high school athletes. This should have been obvious. Additionally, his coaching staff selections and massive amount of positivity and belief in Vegas are also contributing factors.

We haven't had this strong of a recruiting class since JRob.

The coaching staffs strategy to recruit future years and getting kids signed early is paying off big time. This strategy helps focusing energy and time for each signing versus having to constantly recruit a large group of pool of athletes until signing day (a la Hauck and Sanford). This class is going to pay massive dividends in the future.

I strong leap forward in wins next season combined with formal announcement of new athletic center is going to push recruiting to a new high. If the stadium gets completed, it would definitely make UNLV a high potential candidate for the top of the MWC.

Who da man now?????

2016 Team Rankings

#1 UNLV 21 0 0 9 2.43 960
#2 San Diego State 23 0 0 7 2.32 945
#3 Colorado State 18 0 0 7 2.41 900
#4 Boise State 18 0 0 8 2.47 840
#6 San Jose State 19 0 0 4 2.21 735
#7 Air Force 33 0 0 0 2 690
#8 Nevada 18 0 0 4 2.24 675
#8 Fresno State 16 0 0 4 2.29 675
#10 Wyoming 20 0 0 1 2.06 555
#11 Utah State 10 0 0 0 2 435
#12 New Mexico 9 0 0 1 2.17 240
#13 Hawaii 5 0 0 2 2.4 225

While I want to claim the #1 spot, there are quite a few discrepancies between Rivals, 247 and Scout. Looks like star rating are definitely different between sites and Rivals doesn't appear to be fully updated.

Regardless of site used, Rebels class should be in top 5 of MWC. I think #1 will be a stretch against Boise and San Jose. BUT even 247 has the Rebels #5 without the addition of AJ Collins.

AJ's 3 star closes the gap between us and Aztecs. If Armani Rogers is added to the field, UNLV will surpass STDSU.
