One of my favorite sports days of the year. Normally I go to a game on opening day, in all of the places Ive been for an opening day, its always festive, normally a day game with more people outside the stadium at the bars, and beer gardens than inside. This year I was scheduled to be in Chicago for a meeting, so had extended my trip through the weekend. The meeting would have prevented me from Cubs opening day today, but my wife who during normal times works in Chicago every other week would have been there and we were going to go to their game on Sat.
Its been said so many times already, but during tough times sports have always been there to help take your mind off of things. This time, they aren't.
