I know we have discussed it here in the past , but the coverage gets so frustrating . It has been a tough year so far ! The media over the years has never changed. I get they want to act professional but when you break it down its the exact opposite and they hide behind bias but usually teams of where they come from or went to school . They come here and bash unlv and call it " real journalism" . Most of the time they have a disdain for UNLV with something in their individual pasts that makes them hate the rebels cause of our past success. There are some exception ( steve sunshine cofeild sp? tyler bis. Rutgers and kansas )
These two have done well calling it out as they see it , and i have no problem with this kind of coverage. I m a huge fan sometimes i hate what they say sometimes, that i like . Great , good work on their parts.
So with the exception of these two we always seem to recruit anti UNLV guys and it gets so tiring!
I get that Sanders Loves the Rebels , and play by play guys are suppose to kinda of be fans....... but where is the written rule that all our beat writers have to hate UNLV . A small example would be the attendance report . THe crowds the last few games despite the record have been great. Very Loud and active and into it !!!!! Which is huge and makes the atmosphere great . Yet the bought tickets are not reported but his best guess is with it alwasy being rounded down to the nearest thousand , Guys like Graney and the anderson guy and on and on and on for year after year is to bash UNLV. Mainly just snide comments here and there . Meant to cause reaction . That is such lazy journalism with an easy out!!!! Yet they always cheerlead their former teams and giving them free positive press . That is toward Graney mainly and the first part is anderson. AM i the only one that sees it this way. I would rather a cheerleader then an anti Rebel . What gives ????
