McCoy staying?

I thought about it, but i think him staying another year would be useless for him.

It’s all about biding time and he needs to set his priorities for us instead of himself.

That means HIM wanting to win and show up on defense.

That means him WANTING to get better instead of half assing like he’s done last year saving himself for next year’s draft like he did for this year.

I just don’t see him staying because the NBA already pays you to improve with the D league.

I'm not always a fan of another year if the players are going to get drafted high. It paid off for Anthony Bennett. He hasn't had a great pro career but he sure got paid and he is still playing and making money. He has had developmental time as a pro and still not making it in the NBA so another year of college ball probably would not have helped.

That being said, Brandon McCoy was getting better on defense the last part of the year. He has shown that he can improve. His draft stock has gone way down since the beginning of the year and he could stand to make a lot more money with a higher draft next year. I think it would be a great move for him to stay at least one more year.

You'd think if he makes the decision to stay that wanting to get better is a main reason why. I don't know if he was half-assing on defense on purpose or if it was a matter of him never having to expend much effort on defense in high school similar to Stephen Zimmerman and other freshmen big men. If he stays I'm confident he'll be a presence on defense. He's seems like he's got a good head on his shoulders, not some prima donna who pouts if he doesn't get the ball.

Almost as bad as my bait and switch Derrick Jones Jr Dunk with a Dantley Walker missed floater vid

We already know Menzies is not going anywhere, so I don't think there would be any reason for a package deal. I believe McCoy is waiting to see if he will be most likely to be picked late first round, or in the second round of the draft.
