Man, two very desperate teams going at it.
UNM has lost two straight close games, at USU and the one in which they gave up a 25 point second half lead and lost to UNR at the Pit.
UNLV has fared even worse, losing 4 of last 5 and those 4 losses were by an average of 17 points. Both teams are extremely desperate for a win, but UNM is at home where they are 7-1.
Even though the league is all over the place and very subpar, this has the makings of a disaster. Have to worry about E Brown's ability to make plays, especially off the dribble. He draws a lot of fouls. And then you have Tim Williams down low who can be a load.
Fingers are crossed, but I can see a shellacking, I can also see an "upset". I think the odds are higher for a beat down though. But you can't count on anything being predictable in the MWC with so many teams barely above or below mediocre.
I'm going UNM 77 UNLV 66
It would be nice to win this game and see the flames get higher around Neal. Then again, as long as he's there, you really don't have to worry about UNM in the long run, which actually, isn't a good thing for the conference.
