It was a win, and there always seems to be a lot less drama around here after a win, but I'm still struck by the lack of discussion about the actual game. Yes, I've heard a mention or two about getting out rebounded (by an obscene amount mind you) and there was a thread dedicated to Seagars PG play (that nobody commented on) but for the most part it's been awfully silent and we seem to have moved on to ASU on Wednesday.
And this sort of struck me today.
Why?
I mean we had another one of our "droughts" where we couldn't hit the broad side of a barn in the second half. We made countless boneheaded plays and we gave away almost all of a 16 point half time lead before some minor heroics by McCaw helped finish off the game and end us up with an 11 point victory at the end.
What gives?
IMHO there was more than enough ammo for the haters... and yet it never seemed to materialize, and I found myself asking why and I came up with a theory...
They weren't watching.
They weren't there with the rest of us.
They didn't care enough to go through the hassle of going or of figuring out how to stream it off of Big West TV or wherever the Hell it was to be found... they couldn't be bothered. That's not to say that if you didn't watch it you're a "hater" or anything... you aren't expected to be an obsessive psycho like some of us. It's ok to be casual and it doesn't make you any less of a fan. This post wasn't about you...
