I think we need to win the turnover margin by at least +2 to win. if we win and dont do that then i will be impressed.

Illinois was +3 in TO margin, out passed Kansas by ~50, was out rushed by 2.5:1, and both teams were limited on penalties.

I didn't watch any of it, so eye test is out for me. Just a stat check. Gonna need to play mistake free football. Illinois won by 6. Hope to cause some confusion in the defensive backfield and grab a pick or two, and get enough pressure to make Daniels make mistakes.

It sucks to lose McDuffie for a game like this. I think we are much better built to stop to run this season and our back end is much better to allow more people in the box and to spy the qb

One thing for me is still our offense. I know that they really wanted Ricky to get the ball. I think they are trying an AA campaign for him and want to get him stats. Odom practically said so in the post game. But, I would love to see more distribution in the passing game. Cain specifically, but also a little more Bullungay.

To reach our potential we need to have more balance and variety. Hard to say after 2 games where we didn't have to or didn't want to show too much. But also I think real game reps are hard to simulate. So seeing some things in games is key.

I think we are dropping 2 of our next 3, the win vs Fresno, losses with Kansas and Syracuse.

Yeah, home game, should beat Syracuse, right? In terms of dome, familiarity at home, etc - yeah, home field advantage. Crowd? Come on. We show well. Beat Kansas and Fresno, they’ll show, right? A little more but it still isn’t going to be a rocking crowd HFA.

I’m not blaming fans. Too much futility, tough to get fans to show. Let’s face it, Odom has done all he can and the crowds are still meager. It’s going to take more; a lot more for fans to show and have a great impact to where you’d recognize it as a true HFA.

Basketball has wallowed for 10+, the fans went on a massive exodus right away and they’ve stayed away. Because of strong history, unlike football, people will be quicker to return … they’ve yet to had reason, a fluke NIT won’t do it … and they’ll be very quick to bolt again even if we do find some brief.

A lot of people blame fair weather fans.

Well, in football, we’ve never done much. In basketball, did do much for 30 years … fans actually lasted longer than what could be called reasonable.

It’s the programs, not the fans. But suuuuuure, let’s blame the fails and non-successes on fans; not the programs, not the schools, not the coaches. Ok then. Rich take.
