JUCO Shakur Juiston signs with UNLV

Menzies just pulled off the hat trick..... HOLY SMOKES!!!!

Lineups are going through my head like crazy. Even are backups in the front court will be good.. maybe a little raw, but plenty of talent!

Boy, after a disconcerting period of no news, things have completely turned around. Now we get to see what MM can do with a division I roster. Go Rebels.

Look at the last line. If there's a sign that UNLV basketball is making a comeback it's the good old accusations of impropriety. It feels like the 1980's again! I love it.

It's the only thing that could possibly explain picking Vegas over Ames. /s

On a side note, I was curious where UNLV ranks with the current class. You have to make another click to see who sits at # 62.

I love it as well.

The reality is this is a new Vegas. That dome and hockey team have legitimized LV as a big league city. The school and city can draw on their own merit now. The cheating label is becoming a weaker argument by the day.

Given the current sense of euphoria most rebel fans have for the 2017-2018 b-ball season, it would be amusing to hear what naysayers have to complain about. Undoubtedly there are foreboding clouds on the horizon that I am not insightful enough to see.

Meanwhile, my brain gets sore trying to imagine a starting five built on the new recruits and returning players. But it is good soreness

Just read that Ben Carter is petitioning the NCAA for another year of eligibility at MSU. Good luck to Ben.

My lineup/rotation goes something like this

Johnson/Hardy
Mooring/Green/Clyburn
Morgan/Beck/Clyburn
Shakur/Diong
McCoy/Dembele
(Smith/Blair getting blowout minutes)

This hypothetical rotation leaves a couple of questions.
-Can D-Mo play the 3 and D up other 3's? Can you imagine D-Mo trying to D up Hutchinson? If he has to be closer to the bucket and play the 4, then either Dembele or Diong have to red shirt (my guess would be Dembele)
-If our mystery shooter is Rafus (small chance) then he slots in at the 3?

Not sure about Clyburn. Also I think Smith replaces Green and Shakur and Morgan switch positions. But there are a lot of options which is good.
