I sure hope next year IS NOT with rice. But one can wish.
Other than feeling bad for the players, I hope we lose the rest of our games and we can bring someone in that can motivate our players to play night in and night out and have a competitive team that'll get to the next level.

I think it's time TKM gives Rice that Hauck type of ultimatum in regards to what is expected of him next season!!!
I actually had SDSU on a teaser and when they were down by 9 my Wife was getting nervous, but I told her not to worry cause the Rebels would blow it. I said the Aztecs would make adjustments in the 2nd half and the Rebels would not and when SDSU closed the gap, UNLV would fold up like a cheap tent. Its like I said before, Dave Rice has a plan A for every game, but when plan A stops working, that's it, its over, there's never a plan B. I just don't think Rice has what it takes, he's not head coach material.
The way UNLV is playing, 6-12 or 7-11 in MW play is a real possibility. I can't help but wonder what the reaction will be if that happens.

We haven't been a big time program since Tarkanian. We need to stop living in the past. No conference titles since 2000 and we're in the Mountain West. Rice still hasn't won a game in the NCAA Tournament. That's why fans were storming the court after the win against Arizona. It was a huge upset.
Every year I watch a team like San Diego State or New Mexico win the conference and our team finishes no better than third (and this year we are much worse than third). We haven't win the conference tournament in our own stadium against teams like San Diego State in almost 7 years. We have dropped pretty far when San Diego State is accomplishing more than us.

I don't think he even has a plan A. They doubled wood Everytime he touched the ball and he had no clue what to do. The only reason rice looked good in first half was bc mccaw showed up to play ball.
I think I already answered that question of who I want to replace rice. But with our stupid AD and the rest of the higher education geniuses we will hire some div2 guy that has had some success or even a high school coach
I think Archie Miller would be someone good to go after. Young, good coach, and he has fire (unlike rice). All I know is that rice is soft and he is not performing. We have the most talent in this down league and we still can't win games. Our only win is vs San jose.... Like really? It's just absolutely pathetic and disgusting. And it is on the coach for not having the team ready, or benching players like wood when he decides to not give any effort. And why haven't we seen dantley? I know he is small and his defense isnt great. But at least try something new. Put him in for a little bit and play zone. See if he hits a 3 or two and then if he doesn't, pull him. Rice is just such a bad coach.
Brad Stevens should become available after next year. If he can lead Butler to 2 consecutive NCAA Finals, imagine what he could do here.

I only saw one guy not playing hard. I'm surprised I even saw him since he didn't want to be seen. McCaw, Vaughn and Okonoboh all played hard. They wanted to win while the other guy just went through the motions of putting his sneakers on.
