because at a glance, the overall schedule doesn’t look strong. It doesn’t look weak, but nothing earth shattering either. But it plays out well. And we hit the road which is a big deal when it comes to resume.
We weren’t an NCAA team, we knew we weren’t an NCAA team and I don’t think anybody had that expectation if they were reasonable. Yet, with the way the schedule played out, if UNLV had a little more success in the OOC, they’d be in the discussion.
See? It’s not that hard. Not hard at all. Either you give yourself the opportunity for an at large or you don’t. It’s a conscious decision. If you don’t give yourself the opportunity, you’re stealing money and ripping off the players and the fans and you are trying to smokescreen your way to some bullshit glory. It’s so despicable, and so devious when you get media to back you and spread the bullshit.
Otz has done a good job with it. Hopefully, it gets even stronger, I suspect it will. He’s not afraid. His MO is to build, to actually compete, not fool people, not to make excuses why something can not happen. Such a 180 and it’s refreshing in that aspect.
