I would've been happy with the class we had plus a solid pg in Goldwire and solid big in Bangai but to get McCoy, Hardy, and Juiston in the span of 2 days is nothing short of mindblowing. It truly is a testament to the brand that Tark built that can withstand more than TWO DECADES of mediocrity(by UNLV Tark-era standards) and still stir the imaginations of young players who never even saw Tark's teams play. Huge props to Menzies and staff(of course) as well.

When our sad season drew to a close, and March Madness went on without us, again…I turned my attention to baseball and the other team, besides the Rebels, that occupies my heart, my beloved Mets. Unfortunately, injuries have already set them on their heels, but that’s a story for another day and a different venue.

Anyway, I happened to be perusing Twitter when I came across this nugget from Mike Grimala “Brandon McCoy, Shakur Juiston, Amauri Hardy, Mbacke Diong, Tervell Beck and Anthony Smith have all signed letters of intent to UNLV”. I rubbed my eyes as I had surely read this wrong. Then I checked the calendar to make sure it wasn’t a belated April Fool’s prank.

Now that I’ve pinched myself, I’m ready to believe it. Coach Menzies and his staff deserve major kudos. To accomplish a class like this, after the season that we just had, is truly "walking-on-water" miraculous. Obviously, the work is still ahead. No one is going to hand us any titles just because we have big-name recruits. But the ingredients are there, and I believe MM is the right man to get it done.

I’m completely stoked, and can’t wait for the season to begin.

Go Rebels!
Think. I am still stunned.....

What CMM has done in less than one calendar year is nothing short of amazing; especially considering he was hired at the very end of recruiting season last year. Crazy infusion of talent we've seen in the last week.

GL Zion, but that was the type of talent CMM was dealing with last year. And the way CMM handled his top recruit last year (Baxter) lets me know who's in charge here and also makes me very optimistic about the potential development of these prospects vrs similar rated prospects of the CDR era.
