IT will also encourage independent schools to join a conference !! Norte Dame and BYU to name a couple!! Plus it will allow other conferences to leap frog others in any given year!! Plus the whole home field advantage is also a big plus.

I'm sure there is a better possible scenario available, but this is a massive and substantial upgrade.

Imagine that Craig Thompson actually did something right for a change by Basically saying "F" YBU as part of the CFP expansion Committee! LOL

ND won't join a conference, they no longer have to hear people cry about the 13th game data point

I love the 12 team format, hopefully it will make the OOC schedules better. So many schools (talking to you SEC) wont leave their region and wont play a tough game on the road, if its not at home its neutral.

As for ND dont they now have to play 13 games which will eliminate a bye week for them or maybe they can schedule another independent during conference playoff weekend, which as of right now is byu, Liberty, Army, UMass and NMSU.

Honestly when is the last time that any Big Bad Special Ed Conference team traveled West of the Central time Zone to play a game ? If it wasn't for a Bowl or at Neutral site, I can't recall but it's probably been well over a decade. SMFH !!!

You're gonna see the sec schools have to go up to ND or OSU in december for some of these games. They won't know what hit them lol....

And no ND won't need a 13th games since they are giving up the option to get the bye game.

Outside of LSU, the SEC teams do not test themselves in the non con, especially not for a true road game. I get it, they don't have to. But over the years I do question how strong the conference is within any given year.

I beleive it is the toughest conference, but how tough? I don't think any conference is tough enough to never test yourself on the road in the nonconference. Look at Alabama's Non con in the past 5 years. Laughable.
