Rebel 3423 I can tell you must have a really high basketball IQ! You really write that you would take Gottleib over this clown (being Beard). I am just curious what is the coaching background of Gottleib? What is your justification for writing that Beard is less qualified?
Maybe it is based on the high moral standards of Gottlieb since he never was a coach as far as I know:
Gottlieb's stint at Notre Dame would be short. During Gottlieb's freshman year, he was charged with stealing credit cards from a roommate and two others and fraudulently charging over $900 to those cards; Gottlieb has since stated that, after paying back the $900, he was allowed to say he was leaving Notre Dame, in lieu of being expelled.

Well all these better coaches with interest everyone seems to be talking about have never seemed to materialize.
So the main complaint is that Beard has only coached Div. 1 for one season, and you suggest instead a guy who has never coached in any capacity? I mean do you not think his 30-5 season was impressive? Enlighten me.
Beard isn't a clown. He could turn out to be a great under the radar hire.
Granted I think we could have done much better if someone other than TKM was running this search and if our athletic department wasn't ran by mysterious shadow boosters, but again, here we are. There's no way you could hire Gotleib over Beard, that's just crazy.

Gottleib is a name that would cause some excitement on a national level and generate some buzz for our dying program. Beard is someone most nationally would say who? Gottleib is not who I want...I want Lavin. I know Scott Brooks, Mike Brown and Lionel Hollins have all showed interest, and all of them would be a bigger splash hire than Beard

You're right man, hindsight is easy. In hindsight we should have put someone else in change of our athletic department prior to this search. LJ should have recruited and hired an AD, and that AD should have recruited and hired his/her basketball coach.

That's not at all what I'm doing. I'm saying. she should have been made to let Rice go, then she should have been let go either shortly thereafter or at seasons end. Not allowed to hire Rice's replacement.

I don't think she's 100% responsible for this hire In "hindsight" she was obviously a blackballed AD who couldn't be expected to recruit and hire an in demand coach because literally everyone knows she's a puppet who is one step from getting fired herself. She should have been let go prior to this hire ever happening, so that's not her fault i suppose.

Don't let facts get in the way of a good story. The caliber of names who have contacted the school through various channels at some point to express interest is impressive. They're weren't just calling to say hi. Where it goes from there is in the hands of your negotiator, and this broad couldn't sell a used car.
What, have you been living in Siberia? She leaked most of them herself. That's probably what sent up the first red flags with these guys.

Mark Anderson tweeted that Randy Bennett turned down UNLV's 1.5M offer.
I'm assuming if we made a 1.5M offer there must have been mutual interest. If that's the case for the love of god please make this guy a better offer...

Extended the contract of a very marginal football coach with a pay raise - fired a year later Hauck
Renegotiate with Rice to keep him over job in Florida (not sure if ever was real job) - gone about a year later Rice. Put an unqualified assistant coach in charge who had no past experience instead of one of the far more experienced assistants.
She fired the coach mid season (not such a big problem) but waited until months later to get aggressive looking for the new head coach. What was she doing for the last few months besides texting people.
She is busy name dropping all the coaches who want to help out with the search. If true, why is she putting there names out to the public?
Big raise for baseball coach that was already having major drinking problems that the community already knew about - fired for drunk driving
Hired Coach Stand Stolte, who was an assistant coach, to replace the last baseball coach without any search. The program is 8-14 with 3 straight loses to unr when they were in the lead late in all 3 games. It is obvious Stolte does not know how to be a head coach.
Hired a head soccer coach that was very open that this was not the job he was looking for. He quite the program within about 1 year

She has two candidates in town and doesn't make an offer to either. Instead she has them wait while she makes an offer and request for Bennett to come and interview. What are the odds UNLV gets turned down by one or both of the candidates after the way she has acted? She gets into a public pissing contest with Cronin and acts like a little kid playing he said she said! I have listened to her on the radio, and she can't even speak in complete sentences.

I didn't make shit up. Do a little research, follow her career, and the way she has acted is right in line with her entire career. Anyone that has ever held any upper level position or run a company knows when to just shut up, and she has never learned that lesson.
