I actually thought this time would be the time we'd get it right. Initially it looked promising even if Cronin said no. Then today it fell apart. It started with the dumpster fire of a press conference. It sounds like TKM had reason to be upset, but you keep that crap internal. Really, what is there to gain by doing that?? Are coaches going to hear her talk and say to themselves "Oh yes, I need to interview there asap." It sounds like she handled the process well up until then and been downhill since.
And if the reports are right and Menzies is the next coach then IMO they royally F'd this up. Especially with better options like Bennett available. If this is the B list what does the C list look like? Chaparral's basketball coach? I've heard his name pop up for one job, CSU and they passed. Has he been a serious candidate anywhere else? I think there's a reason for that. I hope he does well obviously, but this is the least inspiring hire since Spoon. And I think Spoon results is what we'll get.
