Do you think it will take rice to start mccaw over Kendrick who sucks and only hurts this team. Rice says in post game we can't wait a half to wake up. Well you could fix that "coach" by putting in your most versatile and active player, the one that makes things happen, into the starting lineup so we stop digging ourselves holes and come out playing hard.

especially Wood... he plays mostly lazy!

That strongman pose made me cringe. However, you guys are on crack if you want him on the bench. He remains our best rebounder, a near-second-best shot blocker, and the second best scorer on the team. I'm not sure what you want from him.

he is the best player on the team, but i don't give a crap. i'd send a message and that message could impact how high or low he ends up on the draft board. watch his draft stock plummet playing 8 minutes a game or getting some DNPs. that would surely motivate him.

we are losing games anyway. may as well get players that want to try. everyone was disappointed after the Wyoming game, but not because of lack of effort.

if he would've have put the same flexing effort he did in the first half, we would've won by double-digits. instead, we have an 8 point deficit and that was only because Cody went all 2G and helped score. probably because he saw how he was loafing around.

i think i'm dyslexic because i can't put together thoughts in a clean paragraph. always been a fan of bullet points.

I don't think he is well understood. He is very long and smooth, which I think can make him look lazy when he is not. You can't average double digit boards by being lazy.

He can grab 6-7 boards by just standing there because he has 18 foot arms and is taller than anyone else on the court.

did you watch the Boise game or the UNR game? granted, against UNR he was out muscled.

if he had Roscoe's effort, he'd average 15+ RPG.

I just don't think I can agree. I think if he expended more energy, he would look a lot like Morgan does. Morgan tries too hard and plays too fast and makes mistakes. I think Wood lets the game come to him, and so does Vaughn for that matter.

I think there is one thing that we can be sure about. When Wood takes big men off the dribble at the top of the key he is very very difficult to stop. Even through the contact he gets above the defender and has a soft touch. He usually puts it in the basket and often time gets fouled. But every game it's like he's Drew Barrymore in 50 first dates and he can't remember that it nearly works every time.

Morgan plays too quick. He is so fast which is great, but he lacks the composure to control himself and it often results in a turnover when he gets his hands on the ball.

i agree with that, Wood lets the game come to him. so if any team takes preventative measures to slow him down, he doesn't do much of anything but waits for the game to come to him rather than taking it.

lackadaisical, but when he gives effort he's fantastic.

i wish we could merge the effort of Morgan & Wood. then we'd have an in control player who gives effort 100% of the time while being in control.

BSU started double teaming that and we had no answer.

If he isn't in position, it doesn't matter that his arms are 18 feet long. Why can't Goodluck pull 10 rebounds? He is just as long and spends more of his time in the paint.

To me Goodluck always seems out of position to get rebounds. JMO. My point was I just think Wood is lazy and if he had a little more aggression and applied himself more on both ends of the floor (like the AZ game where he took it personal because he was playing against his old high school teammates) he would be much more successful. I just see Wood as Mr. Cool Guy. Just the way I see him and how he comes off to me. Either way they all need to be more aggressive and assert themselves more. I think asserting Pat into the lineup will help everyone be more aggressive and less lazy from cody to goodluck. He gets everyone involved in ways others cannot especially JK. Things just need to be shaken up a little bit.

>>>> I made this point the other day during SJSU game... After watching game after game, it would see Wood has started playing more and more around the perimeter on defense and IDK if GL realizes this, as it would see there is always that hole opposite of him in the post. He looks so out of postion for rebounding because he has to cover the post defensively. Where someone should be on his backside, there isnt so teams pick up that easy offensive board. Its a repeated issue and stems from someone(likely Wood) being out of his defensive position for whatever reason, lazy, defensive aggression, wanting to block shots, etc, and no one is sliding into that gap.
