This is going to be a LONG week, m'friends. Waiting until Friday at 8 to watch out Rebels play is going to be brutal.
I've watched Oregon only twice, but (like all Altman teams) they are disciplined and know exactly who they are. They press an defend. They can be baited into a lot of bad 3s, especially Benjamin, and they shoot less than 30% from 3. They're also bad from the ft line.
They only play 6 guys with significant minutes with the 7th and 8th men averaging about 9-10 minutes/game. I'd like to see us press and run with Oregon; get the Ducks huffing and puffing.
Tyler Dorsey is a fun player to watch but it's going to be even more fun to see the long arms of McCaw battle Dorsey all game long. At least, I expect McCaw to be on Dorsey. I guess Seagers, although giving up 4 inches on a drive-first, almost-never-pass guard, has 4 years and experience to check someone like Dorsey.
This is Oregon's first game away from their hideous sawdust covered floor. I think that plays well into our hands. It won't be on our home floor, but it's never easy for a team on their first road game, especially with a talented team like UNLV. I fully expect a freshman pg like Dorsey to struggle with the pressure defense.
I can't wait for this game. Let's get healthy and prepared.
Now let me get some work done.
