So as a high school coach, Sanchez got to mold athletes into quarterbacks. It is effectively what every highschool coach does. Maybe you get some kids who played QB in Pop Warner, but some kids grow and some don't. A high school coach has to look at his stable of athletes and pick a couple to mold into quarterbacks. Hopefully one is ready to lead when they become a JR and leave JV team behind.
Is that why all of our QBs struggle here? Does Sanchez think it is his job to mold non-QBs into QBs, or turn a pocket-passer into a rusher or vice-versa. Should he instead be recruiting QBs who are complete, or at least fit into the offense he wants to run.
Is he mistaking what every high school coach has to do, as some sort of devine gift of being a QB whisperer? Does he not realize that his contemporaries are not trying to mold QBs, but developing on top of a foundation?
