Hey Reb!!!!

It doesn't list his 40 or his 100, but it looks like he's in the top 3 for fastest on the team. I don't believe espn's 4.69 time.

He seems to be running away from people throughout his tape.

He says he was recruited to play DB.

We have 1 possibly 2 spots left with Neale leaving.

We may know as soon as tomorrow, but I think there may be one 'surprise' name pop up on signing day. Just a guess, but I think there is one more possible 3*.

Awesome! I had a hunch Mekhi Stevenson would come on board. Once Armani committed Mekhi seemed to really be leaning heavily our way. I'm excited about this prospect and even though we beat out multiple MWC schools to get him I still think he's quite underrated. He's a tremendous talent. He's from the 619 area code which is why I was thinking maybe he was the prospect Cormier was referring to but who knows and there could still be more on the radar.

That is incorrect info that he was recruited to UNLV as a DB.

That snapshot above of him saying "I was recruited for DB" was one line out of the middle of a conversation. It was a reply to "why he didn't choose Utah St" and he was answering that it was because they wanted him to play DB. The line after that was that all the other schools recruiting him (other than USU) wanted him as a WR.

All the photos I've seem of him with UNLV staff have included UNLV wide receivers coach Cedric Cormier and not any of the defensive staff.

It was taken out of context. Good catch.

What I especially like about Mekhi are his intangibles as a wideout. His routes are crisp but even more important are his instincts on how and when to make cuts that turn DBs' momentum against them. Watch how he gets open and finds the open spaces. Jerry Rice was a master at doing these kind of things. Athleticism is obviously part of the equation but having "sure hands" and high WR IQ can really elevate a player. Mekhi appears to have a lot of great potential.

To piggyback on your point about the IQ of using a defender's momentum against himself I was thinking that he would be a good punt or kickoff returner. I'm in no way putting this much pressure on the kid but he reminds me a bit of Antonio Brown with the Steelers in his ability to elude defenders.

Your post also reminded me that the Steelers almost beat Denver without AB. I wouldn't be surprised if they are the favorites to win the afc next year.

I hope so. They need to shore up the D a little and getting Bell back will help the running game (not that Williams played poorly, just that Le'Veon is more dynamic).

They have the weapons on offense. Defensively they have to get better in the secondary.

Hopefully their second round pick from last year, Golson, will have an impact.

He could. A little undersized, but he has to be an upgrade over Blake who was awful this year. I like William Gay, but when he is your best CB there is a problem.
