The site started in ‘98. Between football and basketball, I’m guessing there have been 14-15 searches. In 25 years. That’s too many. Shows instability. And only two of those (three if you count Otz, 4 if you count Beard) were for non-failure. That’s too many. Shows ineptitude.

I mean it’s from an anonymous Twitter handle, So take it for what it’s worth. But richrod has 100% been in contact with UNLV, that part I’m certain of. I don’t think we can outbid wvu, but apparently there’s some high up people that don’t like the way he left last time he coached there.
Its tough at Michigan, but what he did at AZ and WVU I think he would absolutely run the MWC.
He burned a lot of bridges by turning his back on "his people" to go to Michigan. He left at the blink of an eye. New President who would be open to the return, but many boosters still hate him.
I know my answer, but do we care if he dips to a p2 team after leading Unlv to 2 straight 11 win seasons?

Rich Rod tracks with Harper’s criteria and is proven. Not to mention he’s very entertaining and expects results. I think Rich Rod in Vegas is a great match.

I agree . Maybe he does not want to deal with all the people that hate him for leaving. Including the boosters that give the NIL money. Maybe the boosters are holding that over the WVU head?? He starts to lose and the will pounce on him in a minute. Would love to have him. Top 2 choice!
He fits the Harper criteria, former HC at a p4, won at the highest level. Took northwestern to top 10 and won bowl games. He’s a ball coach and is all about ball.
Not a headline grabber like RichRod but he can coach, very similar to the Odom hire.
It’s interesting to think about. One thing Odom did prove is that you can recruit to UNLV players that allow you to compete for a conf championship and shot at the CFP and do so with a lot less pressure than at a P4. And you don’t even need a bunch of 4 & 5 star recruits to do it. Yes you’ll get paid less but if you’ve “been there and done that” at a P4 UNLV must at least cross your mind as a potential spot. Plus it’s a warm weather city with a ton of gravitas, “potential” and has great facilities. Just gotta thing that some of these coaches that have been around the block a few times see UNLV and think about what they could do with its assets, especially if the salary can approach the $3-4M range.
Rich Rod fits. He would at least keep the train rolling down the tracks. If we go assistant or FCS coach, I just sort of seeing it as deflating the program. We need a 'name' right now more than an actual program builder type. The program builder train has left the station.
Us outbidding them definitely makes no sense. Him using our offer to leverage them for a better salary makes a ton of sense. Unless for some reason they cool on him at WVU...

I think they started at 2-2.5 and we went up to 3 mil (pure speculation from me) we can’t go much higher maybe to 3.5 but I don’t have a clue.
Reportedly the boosters are cool on him and rumors are swirling it’s someone else.
