Qb- Palandech continued to work with the 1st team and had a decent day overall. Stanton had his worst day of practice in live drills. This is becoming a theme but Sneed finished practice with yet another TD pass to Allan Cui. No QB has separated themselves at this point. People shouldn't over react, its very early in the process. To my untrained eye Sneed has been the best QB in camp so far. Again its early in the process and without Boyd being a full participant it moves everybody up. Meaning Stanton is working a lot with the 2s and some 3s vs the 1st and 2nd defense.

RB-Lexington Thomas was best among the backs today. Broke off a couple of nice runs, showing good vision and cutback ability. Campbell scored on a tough physical run in goaline drills.

WR-Woods hauled in a beautiful over the shoulder pass from Palabdech along the side lines. I think he is starting to separate himself from Presley a bit for the 3rd WR spot.

OL- Chevalier took snaps from center while Kreitler got some treatment after tweaking his foot or ankle. (Kreitler returned to practice so nothing serious).

DL-In one on one and in goaline drills Alo-Wily was very disruptive. He is quick off the ball and utilizing a variety of rush moves to get into the backfield. Vaolaga had another solid practice highlighted by a tip pass leading to a D. Baldwin INT. Anthony Zepeda had maybe his best practice to date, especially in 1v1 drills.

LB-Not much to report, other than Gabe McCoy looked great in 1v1 pass rush drills. Baily Laolagi seems to have moved up to the 2s.

DBs- Tim Hough continues to shine picking off Stanton. I think he is locked in as one of the top 3 CBs.

K- Nope

Defense seemed to win the day overall. I want to reiterate what I said earlier about the QB spot. Its early in the process, Stanton having some struggles, should not cause any panic. Palandech had a brutal 1st week of practices, but has been better this week. Sneed has been the most consistent. Stanton has had moments but doesn't seem comfortable with his WRs yet.

Hey Bull, I was there with my dad today. I probably saw you, but not sure who to look for. I'm tall and blonde and had on glasses and a black fleece.

I liked what I saw out there. Do you know why they cheered Roscoe at the end?

I am not worried about Stanton. Both of the other two QB's have been in the system a lot longer and so are much more familiar with the receivers. The bottom line is that the overall QB position looks much better than it did at the same time last year when we only had one decent QB.

Yes, he was given a scholarship.

This will do wonders for the ability to recruit walk-on players to UNLV. They will see that with hard work they can earn their way into a scholarship.

I ll throw it out, Stanton's struggles are not because of incompetence or lack of ability. The kid has a monster of an arm that goes the distance/ perfect spiral. He also runs like a hockey player through the center. Sneed has looked the most consistent by far. Sneed has an accurate arm and the ability to be a good pocket passer. However once Stanton figured it out, he has the out, he has the physical ability to be one our best ever. For the first time ever, we have a legitimately good one and two.

I was surprised at how big Stanton is. His size reminded me of Big Ben. He's a bull and makes Palandech look tiny.

Sneed looked good. Someone tore him a new one today in the scrimmage. I think it was Cotton.

I like the OL coach. He was teaching them things but also making them do pushups when they didn't perform. I love when he said "I'm going to find a left guard here or I'm going to look somewhere else!" haha

it was cotton rebman from lvrj “That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard a quarterback say,” Cotton shouted at Sneed on the sideline. “You’re turning a slant into a streak?”

I watched our OL coach with the Hauses one day and he gets into them. He also does a good job with teaching technique and pumping them up when they need it.

To those that made the practice - How about fumbles from the RB's? This kind of scared me in other reads about spring camp, but I also took pride in the fact that the D is making it a focus of going after the ball. Now that the RB's have the wake up call of our D going that hard after the ball is it still coming out?!? No matter what I feel this is one of those things that makes us so much stronger of a team all around... taking the competition on a detail like that up a notch.

Only two I can recall. David Green I think and it was a good hit at the goalline. The other I don't remember who it was.

I saw a few in the practice I went to. Some occurred after the whistles (the coaches let them keep playing) so that could be a reason. On the other hand the defense was going after the ball much more aggressively.

Yeah I think the coaches are letting the defense play a little after the whistle attempting to strip the ball. Its to reinforce protecting the ball for the backs. Also saw a number of drills with one defender standing the runner up and the second defender going for the strip.
