ANYBODY that has a heartbeat. Desperation. They should lower the prices on tickets and give partial refunds. Like 75% maybe they could retain some for next year. Better product they could charge more $. Not before AFTER!
It is desperation and it’s really sad to see, but I cannot blame UNLV. You have to dump them where you can. It’s unfair to season ticket holders - paying 1K or whatever for their seats and the guy and his girlfriend sitting in front of you purchased a Caniac Combo for 9 bucks.ANYBODY that has a heartbeat. Desperation. They should lower the prices on tickets and give partial refunds. Like 75% maybe they could retain some for next year. Better product they could charge more $. Not before AFTER!
If that is the case, do you start balancing operating costs …. ?
"No one is wearing Members Only and Starter jackets."News flash - it aint 1990 anymore. No one is wearing Members Only and Starter jackets. Tark isnt walking through that door and neither are fans.
The Thomas & Mack cant support UNLV basketball. We are a mid-major school that doesn't care to invest in athletics. Why should it? What kind of fan base do we have that is beating down the doors for the next CSU game. UNLV basketball is in the same exact spot as UNLV football.
Thats reality.
That was our fearless leader Governor, Sissylackofsack who doesn’t understand Common Sense 101 let alone Biology 101.UNLV putting the interm AD who put in the vaccine rule for basketball as the permanent AD, removing Hey Reb as the school mascot, etc.. says everything about the school. Sad fact that the inmates are running the school into the ground!
If that’s the case, the AD reaps what he sows.Joe - Look it up it wasn't the Gov. it was the AD who at the time was the interim AD. If the rule had been enforced by the Gov., it would have included the football stadium also for UNLV football games. I am not sure on which thread, but I posted before the post by the AD where he posted that HE made the decision to require vaccines to attend basketball games. He was also heavily involved with the removal of Hey Reb - He is a piece of WOKE trash that I will never support, and his actions most likely have a lot to do with why they made him the permanent AD!
"Joe, you have absolutely no idea what "woke" is"Joe, you have absolutely no idea what "woke" is.
If your scientific knowledge is just as misguided, at least we understand why you are anti-vaxx.
Sorry, Scrub, but if we have to read Joe's political manifesto, sometimes you have to speak up.
I am disappointed with the scorching at Viejas. But, I won't give up.
"Being woke in Hey Reb's case is awareness that some may be offended."Warthog, good question. Referring to Joe's post that I reacted to, woke has nothing to do with Covid, mandates, or, truly Sisolak.
It also has nothing to do with the hiring of questionable persons. Coaches, AD or whatever.
It has nothing to do with academic or athletic reputation.
Woke is a slang term, originated in the 1940's in the black community, referring to "waking up " to racial injustice. It meant then, and means now, identifying racial injustice. Certainly today, with conditions changed, being woke has more to do with modern issues of race.
Woke means, as the word (or more linguistically correct, awake) means to be aware. To examine what you do and say. About race.
In terms of Hey Reb, certainly he was better than Beauregard. Being woke in Hey Reb's case is awareness that some may be offended. If a diverse university is represented by something that offends some of its members, being woke would point that out. The decision to eliminate is certainly debatable.
To claim that hiring a woman or a minority person is only a question of being woke if one assumes that women and minorities are not as qualified as white males.
