I preface this by saying when the decision was made to fire Dave, I was behind it. The way the season was unfolding it looked like things were going to get worse before they got better.
That said, my question is what did firing Dave mid season actually accomplish?
The team isn't playing any better. We are seeing the same mistakes, poor defensive rebounding, poor shot selection, same half court offensive struggles, lack of physical play on both ends of the court and a high number of turnovers.
If the thought was to give Simon a look, it seems foolhardy to think he could do more with the same roster, which is obviously flawed. If the theory is Cliff wanted to give 'his guy' a shot, he really wasn't giving him a great opportunity to succeed.
Again, I really didn't have an issue with firing Dave mis-season. I just look at it now and wonder if it actually accomplished anything.
Would we be any worse off letting Dave finish the season.?
