On the way to the game the guy on the radio mentioned that we have 19 DBs on the roster, yet we moved one of our WRs to DB tonight? Why are these guys on scholarships if they can't play their position?

On the way to the game the guy on the radio mentioned that we have 19 DBs on the roster, yet we moved one of our WRs to DB tonight? Why are these guys on scholarships if they can't play their position?

I think 3 (maybe 4?) players in the defensive secondary have been out for a period of time. Tejchman played DB last week, too. I'd assume there aren't actually 19. Even so, consider guys who are walking on, scout team, freshman who just aren't ready, etc. Drew has played a considerable amount now and understands the speed of the game. He was also a two-way player in high school, so he understands the position.
