Dixon

If we can't get Pitino, I would look seriously at Bryce Drew from Valpo. Not real excited about Dixon.

Curious why the Valpo coach is a more enticing candidate to Dixon?

If you went purely on resume its not really close. Dixon repeatedly wins 20+ games a year (19 his low season). He did this in two of the toughest conferences in the country.

Not stirring up a debate, honestly curious why people would be down on Dixon.

Since Bryce Drew took over at Valpo in 2011 in the 5 years he's been HC he has a record of 119-47 and has won the Horizon League regular season championship 4 times and won the tournament championship twice. He's won 20+ games every year except in 2013-14 and is currently 26-5 and 16-2 in conference play. Not to mention he's a young up and coming coach.

Not saying he isn't a good coach. Just not sure his resume compares to Dixon who has done it in the Big East and ACC.

He has won 20+ games every year at Pitt (except 1) Made multiple sweet 16 runs and an elite 8 run.

Dixon is only 50, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Drew looks like a coach on the rise, but I would go with Dixon.

Ya, odds are Augmon will be back assisting in the NBA next year.
i agree, but i don't like saying bye to the last Tarkanian tie that could be a candidate. the thought sickens me. especially if we end up with some Pasterneck or Mike Brown or toss in the rest of the jokes that are being thrown around.

Pitno - not a snowball's chance
Dixon - would be good, don't believe it can happen (signed until 2023 or some crap)
Miller - see Pitino
Wright - see Pitino

i'm sure there are others....

The biggest problem with getting Pitino here is his wife, just like last time. If she was concerned about the temptations of Las Vegas in 2001 (and instead pushed him to Louisville), you can imagine her opinion about the broads in this town now, Vegas has doubled in size since.
